  • Beautiful message! Thanks for the video, Gerald.

  • Get the audio from this clip at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • yes i have had good experiences having that attitude toward people. trying to treat them equally and with respect. thanks for the good advice.

  • I tried the same before but not with assuming to be friends but just trying to have unconditional love for everyone. I ended up faking it so i stopped it. I could not feel love for all and it was so out of my character. Thinking they are friends is much better i guess i mean you can be mad at a friend but the person is still your friend, but you cannot feel love and anger for some1 at the same time at least i cant:)

But first id rather pretend they are dudes not friends. thanks for the idea

  • @delidani So happy you've tried it! Yes it can be difficult, however once we reach a certain level of spiritual attainment love is the ONLY thing that we can feel and resonate, keep working on it! :)

  • I'm looking forward to trying this ... it reminds me of a time when I was waiting in line to vote ... I looked around and thought, "these are my neighbors," and somehow thinking that made the wait a little less excruciating.

  • Yeah, just a simple change is perspective can make a world of difference! :]

  • That sounds like its just crazy enough to WORK!!

    I'll try it!

  • Thanks .. This has helped me in my christian walk to love thy neighbor... Great insight!!!

  • Ah beautiful, so happy to have helped!

  • It's so great that you've discovered this enlightment. This is really special! :))

  • Aw thank you so much! Love to you Alex! :]

  • I'm definitely going to try this. Sounds like it could easily work. & I'm really unsocial to "strangers" so... Lets hope so lol

  • Did you try it? :)

  • Yeah, I'm amazed at how easy it was too. So im feeling good that I've found such a simple way to kick a bad emotional habit.

  • P.S Thank you!

  • Excellent! So happy to hear! :]

  • I'm really enjoying your videos, Gerald. You are really an inspiration to all of us who desire more fulfilling lives. Thank you so much!

  • Thank you so much for your kind words Andrew! :]

  • This is a really good vid. It is good practical real world advice whereby one can readjust their perception of reality in a meaningful way.

I don't wish to appear parochial but in a way Australians practise the wordlview expressed here quite often, generally speaking.

It is quite natural for us to include "mate" in many sentences, or streams of thought. (even when abusing someone, haha) For example: "Yeah, sure mate" as an expression incredulity.

This habit needs to become contagious.

  • It's amazing how much of an impact a simple change of perception can have. We should all try it.

  • Yes, exactly! :]!

  • thats great i do often the same kind of experiments... also / specially in the highway! it's a practice and it gets easier and easier every time:) keep it up:

i find your vids very nice... we are on the same page ;)

    greetings

  • Yes, we all are friends, all living things.

Power of mercy (metta) are boundless.

Glad to see your vid : )

  • Thank you for watching friend! :)

  • I do something similar, instead of thinking of 'friend' I try to look past others egos and try to connect with what lies beneath. Your right it does make life more positive not only for oneself but for everyone that you may connect with.

    Thanks for posting this :)

  • What a great video, this is a great practise and teaching - thankyou!

Its so good to short-circuit the harded default setting of "fear of the other" that we have evolved with, and especially to use our mind - our greatest evolutionary legacy - to do it!

Have you also noticed that as well as the benefits you mention, the response of others is positiv, warmer, less guarded - its a practice with a double pay-off. Reminds me of the simple statement of the D Lama- "my religion is kindness"

  • Graham! Thank you for your comments! I'm so happy to have found your channel and to know that you've found mine! Keep up the good work! :)

Yes, so simple yet so profound!

  • Very cool idea. Thank you for posting the video

  • Yeah, no problem! Let me know if how it goes if you try it! :)

  • What a wonderful idea. I appreciate it.

  • awesome cant wait to try

  • It's like my Mom used to tell me . . . "strangers are only friends we haven't met yet."

    Thanks for the video.

  • Yeah thats an excellent way of putting it! Thanks for watching! :D

  • Cheers!

  • ... :)

  • This is a great idea! I will try this myself. Thanks again for a new video.

  • i see what you mean and i like the way you presented it. sometimes i feel like people are talking about me and it's usually bad but since i started noticing it and stopping my thoughts consciously it makes a big difference, by making me feel more at ease. so this video comes at a perfect time for me :) thanx

and your eyes are crazy lol very deep i mean

    peace :))

  • Great video as per usual, although i must admit it is hard to follow these ideas/notions in my personal life, i hope i can emulate these positive attitudes throughout my life.

  • thank you

  • You look like David Blaine but good video anyway:)

  • This is great advice, definately going to start putting it into practice.

  • your message reminds me of a quote from Yoko Ono - " Next time you meet a 'foreigner', remember it's only like a window with a different shape to it and the person who's sitting inside is you".

I love it. I'm going to start thinking like this :)

  • We are all one. I now think of you as a friend and I embrace you with love. Thank you for sharing. Namaste, :-)

  • What a fantastic message! This is really going to aid me in my landscaping job this summer.

It also reminds me of a quotation I heard once (I think from the Dalai Lama). There is a bodhisattva of compassion named Avalokitesvara. Just imagine that everyone you meet is Avalokitesvara- you start seeing everyone in a positive light.

    Thanks again, Gerald!

  • That was awesome.i always do that and feel so happy all day for some reason .I guess that the key of life.we are all connected anyway working with one mind. Thanks for posting this video

  • What do you say about people who continually stone wall you despite how vital you are ?

  • That's really cool, to relate strangers as friends. I tried to do that a bit a few months ago. I find that if I relate to people as strangers too much, it can be hard to get to know anyone. Thanks for posting and sharing your thoughts. :)

  • Thank you - I will try this and get back to you. Many thanks for sharing - we can all use help to make our world a better place not only for ourselves, but for everyone.

  • Got to try that. Thanks for sharing!
