help needed. Im planning to make my first build this week. antec 1200, asus rampage extreme with quad core extreme. the core i7 build is just too expensive. should i wait till the prices go down because i heard prices are down by october. but then the news say economy is going up. my laptop intel celeron is busted now.

what should i do.

i7 has new stuff comeing out in the new year I would wait they got the 6 core cpus and amd is the best bang for the buck right now but pure preformance right now is intell for cpus for video cards its ati then nivida then intell

How did u get your q9950 to 3.8? I have the same mobo and cpu not the same ram however (g skill 1066). Im not very good with overclocking. The only thing i messed with was the cpu frequency and the ram so it would run exactly at 1066. I could only get to 3.6 without random crashes and blue screens.

Plese Help, I have the same MOBO and Micro with 8 GB Gskill 1066 MHz and I cant overclock the FSB more than 333 Mhz , in 347 Mhz it runs pretty bad, please give me a solution 4 this problem, I need my Ram at 1200 Mhz !!!

great cable management. Wanting to get same case and psu. Did you need any power extensions?

I bought an extension for the cpu power but did'nt need to. All the cables are plenty long enough. I would go with the corsair 850 instead of the 750 if I were you. I believe they're the same price.

I have it set at 35% fan speed and you cannot hear it over my case fans(all six case fans set on low).Anything above that per say 50% fan speed it's definetly audible.

question: the corsair 750 psu has the intake on the bottom. Is there enough clearance since it is bottom mounted in the antec 1200?

yes it does. It has 4x 1" gromets for the psu to seat on.

no problem. I guess if someone wants more airflow, they can eighter drill holes or cut out the bottom of the case. But I think there is enough airflow coming from the bottom fan plus it looks better(wire management wise).

im planning to buy a sapphire 4870 1GB i saw the price of the 512MB version and there is only a little price difference between the two. i was just thinking that maybe because the 1GB version is clocked slower? is there really a big difference between the two?

Haha, I'm getting the exact same setup as you, except I'm getting a different monitor, speakers, and I'm getting the Xigmatek CPU Rifle cooler. I might get the Zerotherm though. (It was 2nd on my list of which CPU cooler to buy)

thanks. yeah I was gonna go with tuniq 120 but zerotherm looks better and performance is about the same. As far as the gpu I wish I would have waited, cuz sapphire just came out with 4870 1 gig toxic edition. It's suppose to have a better cooler. Oh well I could wait any longer.
