it does have multiple meanings and it is meant to be that way...

1) tripping on psychedelics but not knowing their true power and usefulness...and also not being able integrating the trip into your normal everyday life...

2) tripping and falling - as you stated...a lot of old people hurt themselves severely because they fall down and don't land properly...

3) taking a vacation...but not enjoying it and accepting it as a vacation...
