  • I am very disappointed this video is still live... I would be completely ashamed to keep this video live on my channel... this is clearly NOT a waterproof test but merely a splash proof test at best... the pack should've been completely submerged, if videos like this continue to be posted I may eventually un-subscribe from this channel.

  • @billdelong Your right, wonder if this vid was "approved" by maxamps before they were allowed to post it. Looks like the water never even got up to the wires. More Maxamps smoke and mirrors...

  • the balance plug will still short... ALL lipo's are "Waterproof" but the plugs arnt.... lipos are closed cells...

  • try that in the salty water. i dare you

  • wow...... the container of the battery is WATERPROOF.... put the JACKS IN THE WATER = what is gonna happen if you play in the water see what happens probably a big ball of fire

  • Do you need to waterproof the connectors? Like where it runs from the Esc to the battery? That section where the battery plugs in?

  • You have to wait to make a video showing the battery and truck under water. Hmmmm, you dont have a sink or tub? Special order. LMAO

I use lipos in my scaler in the river under water all the time and have yet to have one fail. I do not see the reason for this video.

    I still like maxamps.

  • @jmaconcepts ya the hard part is waterproof esc and reciever also your motor wont like it if its open air cooled

  • truck submerging the connectors! my rc batter just started on fire wtf

  • To bad once you get water in the balance lead you short the battery................the case and battery itself may be waterproof but that balance lead isnt.

  • wat was the point of that

  • @FOXracing12100 They were to show that there does exist Waterproof battery's, and also testing them out for you so its not fake.

  • is it possible to make a crawler go fast with the stock axles

  • Can anybody tell me what truck that is they use in the end?

  • lol nope cause its custom looks mabie like a custom traxxas stampede

  • its the project mud truck they made

  • Axial SCX10

  • Hey Guys. Our second video will be uploaded soon and the entire truck and battery are 100% completely under water.

  • When a Lipo goes bad, you're supposed to discharge them, and put them into a bucket of salt water.

What's the deal with these then? : P

Seriously, moisture entering the cells from capillary action up through and around the wires has not been touched in this demonstration.

  • yeah your actually right they need to go into salt water if they are bad.... but they are water proof. i say just blow them up far away from flamables:)

  • i dident know battrys had a problem with water in the first place my stuff has been under warter tons of times and ive never once had a problem

  • most LiPo's are ran with Brushless right?

so what brushless system is water proof?

    hence: "Proof" not resistant,

  • ALL TRAXXAS CONNECTORS ARE WATERPROOF WHEN PLUGGED TOGETHER. So showing the connectors submerged would have been pointless.

  • No there not. In order for any plug to be water "proof" you would need some kind of seal. traxxas plugs have none they plug in hard plastic to hard plastic.

  • They absolutely are. Can you explain why my Summit can drive completely submerged without one glitch? Its called WATERPROOF!

  • LOL. In order for something to be water proof you need a seal of some kind to seal it away from the water traxxas plugs have no seals they are not water proof. NO plugs are water proof. THEY DON"T MAKE THEM.when you plug in a traxxas plug theres still a small crack between the plugs so guess what water can still get in. I was just making a point they said it was waterproof when theres no such thing.

  • plus you can run a battery under water with no water proofing what so ever and just let it dry after running and it's fine the point was they said water proof when it's clearly not

  • the pack not the pluggs the pack was in water and im runing a water proof slash and no problems with the plugs so i guess my whole thing is water proofe evan the plugs for it to still work

  • You can put any battery under water and run it. but it's not water proof. like I said before for something to be water proof it has to have some kind of seal to seal it away from the water no plugs made for RC cars are water proof. but they will still work in water.I was just calling them out on the "WATER PROOF" part of the video thats all. the wrap that the battery is in may be water proof but if the plugs aren't so it's pointless to call it water proof.

  • What does that prove? The connectors getting wet are what really needs to be tested.

  • so where do you plug the balancing leads in....

  • the test should be putting the side with all the connectors are into the water.

  • This is a scam... Almost all lipos are water proof. If you are worried about it getting wet. Just wrap it up in saran wrap or stick it in a baggie. Check out spc lipos.

  • yea but what happens when the battery leads are underwater too? it would most likely short out. its pretty cool but its not fully waterproof. when a battery goes underwater the leads will be submerged as well

  • WHAT ABOUT THOSE NON WATER PROOF PLUGS? plus what good is a water proof lipo if all the electronics aren't makes no sence.

  • some electronics are waterproofed OR can be made waterproof

battery plugs...wrap em up with electical tape :D

  • Not to pick at them but they say "WATER PROOF" this is not water proof. This is "LOOK THIS LIPO HAS VERY GOOD HEAT SHRINK ON IT SO WE'LL CALL IT WATER PROOF" and if we have to wrap their plugs in tape to make them water proof they fail again.

  • you mean like TRAXXAS is "water proof!"

  • yeah their plugs being water proof is a joke

  • yes well said

  • 1. The plugs do not need to be waterproof, water on the plug will not short it out. You can completely submerge a battery (not LiPo unless it's waterproofed) and wires and nothing will happen.

    2. LiPo's unlike NiMh or NiCd should not run in water unless waterproofed. Water will ruin a LiPo.

    3. The Maxamps packs are dipped in a solution that hardens and seals the packs and makes them waterproof, much like plastidip which a lot of us in R/C have been using for years, then they shrinkwrap them.

  • If water goes from the + to the - it has shorted the circut..that is a fact. It may not hurt the battery, BUT anytime a battery is shorted especially a lipo it may surge the system and ruin your electronics..I've had it happen with a "water proof" battery. All I was saying is if there going to say water proof they need to seal that plug...but what they really need to say is water resistant not proof.

  • If it's just water, it won't do anything. If it's a mix of mud/dirt and water, it has a higher chance, because dirt has a lot of electrolites.

  • water has minerals in it thats why it conducts electricity. mud also has water in it. dirt by it self will not conduct electricity. It needs the water to do it.

  • what vehicle is that ??

  • i think its an axial ax10 with the x-trail chassis

  • yes it is a ax10 with xtrail chassis. or at least a xtrail chassis with axial links.

  • i would have liked to see the wires submerged under too...

  • me 2

  • Looks impressive but would like to see for myself lol,5*
