@Atreiii I am not sure I understand your question. If you do not have a DVD ROM, it wont read any DVD. BackTrack is too big to fit on a regular CD, you may put it onto USB. It downloads as an ISO, then you need to make it bootable, which you can do in nero or other programs.

i wouldnt hit CTRL C untill the key is found aircrack-ng will keep running and keeps trying while you collect data so when its cracked then close everything. you can use aircrack-ng with no encyption and just the file name or you can specify using the -n command -n 64, 128,512 ect ect

Backtrack has its networking off by default which is why I couldn't get online when I just started using it....

It should be capturing packets from the target AP? However it doesn't seem to be, Might this have to do with putting the wlan0 into monitor or P-mode? or something simple such as no network traffic on the target network? Ideas?

that is what you should get. it should NOT be capturing packets yet though. you need to open up another console window after that (but leave that one open) then type in "aireplay-ng -3 -b (BSSID) wlan0". then it should be capturing packets

you can make a live cd version. Meaning, download the ISO format of BT4 and burn to a dvd. This make a linux boot disk. so, just reboot the computer with the boot disk inside and at startup hit.. on mine it's esc. choose to boot from disk. this should give you the full linux OS with admin access i do believe. If you wanted to install BT4 as a dual OS or something yea you would need admin access.
