I dont agree to what you say about enlightenment but that unity will only be known in samadhi which is a superconscious state, not at all easy. But you can get a short dose in satori which you are deducted into an enlightenment. I agree that sadly it is not easy to see enligtened masters around now, a Buddha or jesus are rare incarnations but there were a few. There are certain criterias to recognize the genuine ones. I bought the Gita and Krishna wants me to chant the mantra every day. I will not do that! I am only interested in the self realisation part of the gita.
I think the best would be to read the Gita from start to finish. To become self realized the soul has to become purified from much dirt (karma, sinful reactions) accumulated over 100s of past life's. To chant The Holy Name is an opportunity to get rid of these things. Krishna says that one who worships me with love and devotion will not have to take birth again in this material world, but comes to my abode. Chanting is a very highly rewarding activity, don't let your mind dictate what not to do
In the beginning the mind may rebel against the chanting, it does that sometimes, but with perseverance it soon becomes very sweet. Like sense gratification is mostly sweet in the beginning and later it can be like poison and worshipping Krishna it can be the other way around, chanting may be difficult in the beginning and soon it becomes very nice. Devarsi, I know you are a dvaita vady ISKON follower, I presume you might have been arguing with an Advaita vady. I would call ISKON as a hindu form of Juda- chirstian type of stuff. Advaita is the undisputed highest form of Indian philosophy of shankara where dvaithis like madhavachrya etc couldnt do much against it. Nature took millions of years to create a egg wether there is a god behind it or not, so your argument is not sane.
You could not be further of the track. We are vaisnavas and advaita is the most disputed and not the highest form of Indian philosophy, it has been defeated over and over again. This is vaisnavisam vs Shivaism. Mayavada has no roots in vedas but the atman has isnt it? it is mostly influenced by Sunyavada that is why they are called prachana Buddhas as Buddhisam was influenced by Sankya which is the root for both. Vedas and puranas never attracted me but the upanishads, advaita and Buddisam. though I like Gita,Gita talks about sankya and yoga not of buddisam but yoga came after buddisam so the authenticity of Gita is in question dating the period of Mahabharatha right ?

the author is Lord Krishna and you are not Krishna, you are a bogus impersonator with a God complex, like the Napoleon complex. If u r God then why are you helplessly under the control of material nature? You are suffering like everyone else resulting in death over which you have no control, the same like u have no control over passing stool or getting old and you arrogantly claim that u r God? Devarsi, I know you are a dvaita vady ISKON follower, I presume you might have been arguing with an Advaita vady. I would call ISKON as a hindu form of Juda- chirstian type of stuff. Advaita is the undisputed highest form of Indian philosophy of shankara where dvaithis like madhavachrya etc couldnt do much against it. Nature took millions of years to create a egg wether there is a god behind it or not, so your argument is not sane.

You could not be further of the track. We are vaisnavas and advaita is the most disputed and not the highest form of Indian philosophy, it has been defeated over and over again. Its only people of an atheistic nature which follow advaita and here is what Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita about it Himself. See next reply

This is vaisnavisam vs Shivaism. Mayavada has no roots in vedas but the atman has isnt it? it is mostly influenced by Sunyavada that is why they are called prachana Buddhas as Buddhisam was influenced by Sankya which is the root for both. Vedas and puranas never attracted me but the upanishads, advaita and Buddisam. though I like Gita,Gita talks about sankya and yoga not of buddisam but yoga came after buddisam so the authenticity of Gita is in question dating the period of Mahabharatha right ?

At the present moment we have just passed through five thousand years of the Kali-yuga, which lasts 432,000 years. Before this there was Dvapara-yuga (800,000 years), and before that there was Treta-yuga (1,200,000 years).
