  • And that my friends is why I will live in Hamilton all my life.

  • coooool

  • @dinoman991 me too!

  • CONTACT!!

  • @idontknowu13 not quite true there are 2 others that run their engines up, and Just Jane does high speed taxi runs at present but there are rumors that she may fly again..Flypast did an article on Just Jane...where they ask that question, owners of Just Jane wouldn't commit, but they just got a bunch of spares from the Nanton Lancaster Society. I'm bummed that there are no MK II's left at all, the ones with the Bristol Hercules engines.

  • Beautiful sound when the engines turn on!

  • My Grandfather served with the RCAF 115 Squadron as a tail gunner on the Lancaster Bomber. He completed his 30 ops. Only 7 of the 30 crews returned. Our family visited the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario (where we live) 2 years ago and had a personal tour of the Lancaster. My Grandpa even went inside with us. It was a day I will cherish forever. He passed away on April 5, 2010 at 88 years old.

  • @paulawhite78 God bless your grand father... Tail gunner, 30 ops... his spirit angel had kept him very safety ! All my best in that Day !!!

  • @alexandre210613 Thank you : )

  • my grandfather flew the MK ND650 that was shot down over Germany - he survived and became a POW

  • Hi, Have sent you a message regarding this - please read!

  • @trentolney awww... did he make it home ?

  • He was POW in stalag luft 13

He was repatriated in an exchange of POWs.

He lost his leg during his plane going down.

After 1 year he did make it home and died Jan 4, 2008 at the age of 92.

  • What's the difference between turboprop and piston-engine?

  • A turboprop engine is basically a jet engine with a propellor attached. This is ideal for larger aircraft that fly at lower altitudes & can take off on shorter runways for example the Hercules.

  • those are the same engines, but the sound quality is bad, but yes, those are the original merlins

  • Did they redo the engine? It doesn't really sound like a Merlin

  • yes i just seen the lancaster on monday in hamilton at the warplane museum its a really nice plane and ive met a veteran that flew one

  • Great old girl; eye and ear candy!

  • my great grandmother was an electritian on one of those in ww2.

  • My Wife is related to the man who helped re-wire that plane. I saw it up close at St.Thomas, awhile back.
