Looks cheap and dreadful. If a tone deaf cat could play the fiddle they'd probably come up with less screetchy "mood music"! I was thinking of buying this version so thank you for letting me know not to bother.
This is like the "Chris Nolan" version of the Christmas Carol, lol...and tiny tim actually looks like a tiny tim. Great interpretation and captures the novel perfectly.
Probably one of the best versions of A Christmas Carol I've ever seen...with an actor who seemingly was born to play the role of Scrooge! George C. Scott
Ghost of Christmas Past-Angela Pleasance, daughter of Donald, played Queen Elizabeth I on "Doctor Who", one of Leezar's berating mothers in "Your Highness". :D
This is a good version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol but none will surpass the 1938 version with Reginald Owen as Scrooge or Alastair Sim's portrayal as old Ebenezer in the 1951 film. If you never have viewed those, I urge you to treat yourselves to either or preferably both. Both are excellent versions of Dickens' classic.
shit! i was fooling with the volume and accidentally just clicked dislike. this is one of the greatest movies ever. the story of "A Christmas Carol" is as important to mankind as the stories in the bible are. i would never purposely dislike it!
@JulieN229 In the novel, it is explained that the chains represent the dis-honest and bad things he did whilst in life. "I wear the chain I forged in life, I made it link by link, yard by yard. I girded it on my own free will, and of my own free will i wore it." - Jacob Marley. In effect, in the afterlife, he is now paying penance by being bound by his past deeds and this is signified by the chains.
what do you mean? This is a play, not a sitcom from the nineties! Very refreshing not to see a bunch of girlies in perefect make up and hot clothes after a long day at work. not a hair out of place or a run in their stockings. Ja, this is entertainment for us norms!!!
there really is no version of this story that fallows the book

This scrooge seems a little more careing. Asking what he can do for Marley, even though it's too late.

I love the whole "business" speech - we're doing this play at my family theater, and the guy who plays Marley does that speech SO well!

The part the window opens at 7:26 it sounds like the gates of hell have open and you can hear the screams and wails of the damn.
