I was 9 and in Colorado Springs - last day of school, they let us out a bit early to wait (seemed like hours) for JFK to go by in "that Lincoln." Guess I'd only seen b&w photos of him because I was also struck by his red hair as he sped by. Thanks to HelmerReenberg for posting this. As dad was an Air Force officer, we moved to Clark AFB in the Philippines right after this - learned of his death on Nov.24. I ended up in Austin, TX by 7th grade, where all the kids expected JFK the nite of Nov.22.
I just watched a homemade video of the same day. One of My wifes relatives was there that day & shot very similar footage. It shows the helicopter coming in & then President John F. Kennedy driving by in his car. Was that the same car he was in when he was shot in Dallas? The drive by shows him clearly , but the rest is from a distance back. I remember the helicopter from when he visited Tacoma WA when , I'll put mine up in the coming weeks.
Do you have a copy of the 2003 Court TV (Forensic Files) documentary on the JFK assassination, that included several minutes of computer animation (not Dale Myers animation) of the Dealey Plaza shooting? I contacted Court TV, and they said that the 1 hr show was never sold on DVD due to a licensing restriction, and that the Court TV license to even broadcast it has expired, so they will never broadcast it again. Thanks.
@seashorelineone yes, i was about same age(7) and remember his reddish hair shining in the sun as he boarded AF 1 at Andrews...just a few blocks away from the O club where we swam often.. My father later spendt ten years in Colorado Springs as FAA liaison to NORAD.. my nephew is based there now as a missile officer in the Army.

Ent AFB was big enough to pis on one corner and watch it flow to the other before finishing a cigarette.
Air Force Block would have been a better name
