what the fuck?? bear hunting is a joke !!! how fucking hard !!!! ur a loser!! hunt a deer or elk !!! bears are slow and easy to find !!! especially when you bring a whole grocery store worth of food !!!! LAHHU-ZAHER !!!!!!!!!
@patton223 Good lord, are you the transexual in your icon picture? Good luck with that LOL. Now I wouldn't show up at the carrot in the butt parade and protest you walking hand in hand with your "life partner" just because I may not agree but I'm going to give you a little lesson anyhow. Feel free to take notes. There isn't much I havent caught, snared, trapped or hunted and black bear is without a doubt the smartest and most difficult to pattern. They can exceed speeds of 30 mph as well. FAIL!
@79Testo A .338 or the popular 300 Ultra mags would fair well I think. While baiting I carry a .45. If it werent for the inconvenience a 12 guage full of slugs or even buck would be hard to beat.
Thanks for the reply bro. I'm going to need to carry something on me for protection when I head out to trap in the woods. Do you recommend I carry a 12 guage full of slugs?
Is the 12 gauge enough to stop a black bear? Is the 12 guage also stronger than a 20 guage? I don't want people to read about me in the papers, winding up as bear prey.
hay Bobo whats in the picnic basket lets see Yogi peanut butter, pie filling, cake, doughnuts, granola, road kill and bacon grease. Um sounds good to me bobo.
i do not understand wen you guys say the first hunt the second hunt does this mean your tag is only good for a certain date like september 10th to september 15th.
and all the hunters have diffrent hunting dates for there tag?
@TheWildNorth Thanks man! This was my first hunt. I kinda answered the hunt dates on the other vid just now. I like this 2nd hunt the best but hate not getting drawn and going without. I look forward to that bear in the freezer more than a deer. Good stuff!
Hey! Cool video. I never hunted bear until the animal rights activists in Ontario ended the spring bear hunt. It's really cool! What a rush, and bear tastes great too!
@markbellune There are no grizzlies in MI stupid. This is 10 minutes from home....you know home, where you sit and watch Jim Shockey on the dumb box and think every bear in the world is a booner.
@MrAnimalControl Yeah thats him. That boy can tell some stories LOL. Gonna be good, saw a bunch of berry pickers driving around yesterday already. Storm rolled in last night and we got dumped on again big time.
@1CHANCEPRO 1st hunt, thats awesome! I got the second again this year along with a few others coming up. Should be good, I'm into the bears again this year big time. Everytime I take the drive East down 28 toward Sceney I think what a beautiful spot to find some big old mature bears. I had some friends hunting in Stuben in Newberry last fall but they had the last hunt and pressure from the dog hunters was heavy. Best of luck!
Thats great, where'd you get drawn for? I'm moving about 20 minutes away from where I got mine at the end of the month. I know a great guide (cheap) up there just north of Escanaba. I'm thinking of doing a little guiding myself...maybe for 2010...got a lot of guys I talked into coming up. Good luck, let me know how you make out. Better yet, bring a camera!
I never hunted black bear yet but I'm looking forward to go for the first time this year with my father and a friend, The bears are actually just one hour away from home.......can't wait. good video and good hunt....keep it up!
From what I understand baiting is important right?
This was my first hunt although I had gone with my buddy in 07 and watched him get his first and I'll be applying again this year. I had a great time and still enjoying those steaks. I would imagine your wilderness not too different than that in MI upper peninsula and would think baiting would be the only way to lure them in sense spot and stalk isnt really an option where I was. Get the baits out early, once they find them they'll keep coming back and hopefully give you that shot. Good luck!
oh yea buddy baiting is the best. Check my channle out i got a few hunts on ther. oh and i have had more sucsess useing lol any fast food grease most places they dont care if you take it good luck
Thanks Jed, looking forward to bringing more. I never did get him weighed. I was rushing to keep him on ice and get him skinned out back home because it was unseasonably warm for a couple days there. We all thought at camp he was about 200 give or take 10......not real big but a little better than average and couldn't pass on the opportunity.
Hey man, good job getting a first black bear, but if should shoot another make sure you aim for the heart. It's a dead drop... especially with a 30-06. If you get the chance to hunt for Grizzly's you need to make sure you hit the heart and you will avoid danger.
Yeah I was a little surprised when he didn't drop at that range. I actualy clipped the top of the heart but he still managed to charge about 70 or 80 yards into the thick cedars before crashing. Luckily we heard a death moan so we knew the deal was sealed going in for the recovery. Thanks! What an experience.
Hey thanks Jim, I went with my buddy a couple years ago and watched him down his first bear and had to experience it for myself. Boy I'm glad I did, can't wait till next time!
Hey thanks. No I was using my 30-06 but as early as he came in I kinda wish I had a bow in hand. This was my first bear hunt. Next time it's going to be with a bow.
Model70 Winchester, 165 grain. haha yeah I'll use a bow but I'll have a gun at my hip as well. It hasn't happened to me yet but something unsetling about the thought of leaving the area in the dark with a sow and her cubs present.
Thanks Rock, yeah I've had fun with it. Didn't really do much to this being one of my old vids and had a lot of footage but turkey season is here and lots more footage to take and movies to make, fun stuff!
Hey thanks, yeah is not to unusual to see a white patch but a good v like that is hard to come by. He looks nice tanned out and hanging over my gun cabinet.
That was a great video. 5 stars. Thanks for sharing. Its been cold here in Northern Alberta. Set up my baits last weekend,. Checking them 2 morrow. We use beaver barb wired to tree and popcorn in our barrels laced with icing sugar. Are you hunting bears this spring??? This is not a fall bear is it??
Hey thanks, we don't have a spring season. Our season runs in September and October and it's a drawing so I'll just put in for a point this year and hope to draw for next year. I've heard the beavers a heck of a bait. My buddy Dave filling baits in the video shot a huge 500 pound black bear from this same tree one year earlier to the day. Hes got one heck of a full body mount....I'll post it as my BG for the day if I can find the pic.
Wow, a 500 lb bear is quite the bear. Beavers are the best call bait, and most favorite to eat by bears. Try it. We wont set up a bait with out a beaver barb wired to the tree with its guts unzipped. It stinks, rots and bears pick up on it. all the time the eat the beaver first before eating whats out of the barrels. TRY IT!!!!!
Heck ya, throw some vids together before you're working non stop and changing the dirty diappers for two here real soon. I can't wait to get back up north.
That bear was the disease and you were the cure! LOL I am in the catskill mountains and we are loaded with bear. There were honey bees in the siding of a church near me, last summer a bear ripped all the siding off the church to get at the honey. I will be in the woods this Nov with my new 7MM Rem Mag to take care of bizness.

That sounded like a pretty deep boom for a rifle, Heavy grain?
To use a bow for bear, you must need some brass balls to get that done......or an extra set of underware!
