The terrible Frank Turner supported Evan in 2008, I talked with Frank (a nice Eaton boy), he is a big Lemonheads fan and probably played 'It's A Shame About Ray' in his dorm missing home circa '92. Evan was bang on the coke during 2008, he had fallen off the wagon in a big way and played a few 30 mins sets because he was in a huff that his tour Manager could not score him any powder. But don't fear everyone, Dando is going nowhere, he likes the attention.

What is that weird misplaced awkwardness? Nervousness?

If he's not stoned or drunk then WTF is all that mumbling?

Look at the interviewer's eyes too - a mixture of horror and fear. He's obviously a fan but I can imagine his ardent fandom evaporating as we watch...

@TheGrungeSinger I just saw this for the first time and I also thought the interviewer was irritating. Perhaps if he'd been more relaxed and looked less as if he was crapping his pants because he seemed to be terrified of Evan Dando then the interview would have been better. Clearly, Evan seems a little bit "out there" but still, he seems like a nice, likeable guy, he's very talented and he should have been interviewed by a much better interviewer who could have connected with him better!

Anyway, you guys got me wrong. I'm a great and loyal fan of Evan. I just find him to be dissapointing. He is obviously high during this interview. He struggles to even speak at times. I am just tired of him playing up that whole "Dippy Dando" image. This is not him at all. Its just some strange method he uses to deal with media/fans/public. He is an articulate man and I like listening to him speak when he is that way. Thats all.
