  • Bottleneck

  • while all the non-techies run around with their memory modules up their noses, i'll be fine tuning the GPU and CPU to really make my machine roar

  • You have lag because you have an intel core 2 duo. its a dual core cpu. For fraps i suggest you get a X3 or X4 cpu

  • It makes me laugh when people think they need more than 4GB of RAM for games :) the only reason you would need more is for HD video encoding. That is all.

  • 30 fps from quad core 3.6 ghz

    xfx radeon hd 6850

    8 gb of ram

    250 gb of hdd

    and ICEnhancer :D

  • You're damaging your GPU, no crap that you're lagging, DUAL CORE? way to slow for this card, it's bottlenecking it hard

  • @Cqub3 true... true...

  • 2X2gb= 4gb it is really?

  • i play gta iv on the hp dv6 with 6490m and get 30-35 on high texture medium shadows high reflect medium water

  • lol will this game run better at my specs?

    i7 950 @ 3.07 GHz

    6 GB DDR3 1066 MHz RAM

    6870 Dual Fan 1 GB

  • @Mijnkreft yes.

  • @Mijnkreft Hahahaha you know it will... Apart from the RAM is a little slow xD

  • @xxDiZZyShotZxx RAM will hardly even effect performance. We're talking like 0.0000001.

  • @undeadkillers Tough, that depends on the game, lately i upgraded from 3gb to 6gb, i didn't really expect any performance difference at all, but it definitely gave me 10 to 15 fps more!, the game was Battlefield 3 by the way

  • @Cqub3 Considering that your system is x64 then of course 3GBs is quite low. Since RAM has been its lowest cost/per GB 8GB is recommended. I currently have 9GB and use 2 VMs sometimes with no problems.

  • @Cqub3 The only processor that depends on RAM is AMD APUs. Since it's a CPU and a GPU on a same die, the GPU uses the systems RAM and there's been tests on AMDs APU showing that the frequency of the RAM affects FPS. RAM running at frequencies 1066 and 1333 will have no effect on computers with dedicated GPU.

I'm admitting that I was wrong but not completely. :)

  • In this game's case, the processor's killing the frame rate... GTA IV asks for a quad-core cpu for better performance, the card is really good, but the processor is creating a bottleneck. Get a quead-core cpu when you hace the chance, an i3 would be ok if you don't want to spend a lot of money. (i3 and i5 are likely the same except for "turbo-boost"). and you'll get more FPS.

  • Yea.. your lagging quite a bit there, You should buy a more beefier power supply, maybe around 700 - 750 Watt, I think what its doing is underclocking your GPU for the video card you have you shouldn't be getting that much lag. Also should check into your catalyst drivers I know sometimes it'll set the default clock at 400 even when your in a game.. should check into that maybe use MSI Afterburner to check.

  • @PontiacMan86 Dude, hes lagging because his processor isn't the fastest. And i have HD 6850 and i7 2600k 3.4ghz and 460 Watt power supply. GTA iv runs with very high settings (Expect shadow detail because it kills the fps, it was set on high.) with 45-60 fps. Its not the power supply, its the processor.

  • i have this card and it cant even play gta4 on low settings without lagging and crashing

  • How much is the price 6850

  • You are running a 450W power supply, the recommended wattage for a 6850 is at least 500W.

  • @NetherLinkOnline In most cases yes that is true, but when it come to games the most important piece of hardware is the graphics card.

I have a q8300, pretty decent cpu but i have also a nvidia gt120 which is nvidia's low end parts and with medium settings i have the same fps (~30), if i had his 6850 i would get around 60+ fps.

In my opinion for games you need a well balanced computer so that the components don't suffer from bottleneck like in this case.

  • dude u have a dual core. that is what is holding you back.

  • get an AM3 MotherBoard. and get an AMD Phenom II X4

  • @poopoo563 Hahahaa that retarted comment made me laugh. Intel i7 is the way to go.

  • @YourComputerExpert Well I'm just saying, AMD Phenom II X4 is much cheaper and affordable... i7 costs like idk? almost 400 BUCKS?

  • @YourComputerExpert Not really. Core 2 Quads still hold their own by todays standards, mine never goes over 70% while gaming... so no, i7 isn't the way to go, if you have LGA775, pick up a Q9450 for like $100. if you have an AM3 board that is compatible with Bulldozer, get that, if you have a pentium 4 or a core 2 duo, thats the time to think about going i7.

  • @YourComputerExpert a sandy bridge i3 or i5 is more than enough... that was a retarded comment, son.

  • @gabrocki He said the AMD was better then the i7 best Processor. I said: "Haha, that made me laugh, the i7 is the way to go."

Don't think you know things better then others if you don't know what you're talking about. But no problem because you are a dumb kid and you can't help it. GO watch the AnnoyingFaggot.

  • @YourComputerExpert he never stated it was better, he only said "get an AM3 mobo and a Phenom II x4" He's got a point there, it's a lot cheaper setup.

The intels are faster, true. NO ONE SAID THEY ARE NOT. For example, I'm getting an i3 2100 (which is stronger than a Phenom II x4 955 and the TDP is lower!) but apparently, you have serious issues with reading and understanding others. So think twice who and when you call someone a "dumb kid"

  • @gabrocki "Serious Issues". Think before you say something, it's really weird to say something like that.

  • @YourComputerExpert Maybe it is, but that's the sad truth.

Quote: "He said the AMD was better then the i7 best Processor"

He never did, but you fail to recognize that. He only said get an AM3 mobo and a Phenom II x4 CPU... He never said it was better than an i7. Also, saying "i7 is the way to go" is kinda stupid. i5 is more than enough for gaming (Especially Sandy Bridge ones).

  • 1:47 esse Policial a e é mau

  • If you don't want lag from recording, but still want a good recorder, try bandicam.

  • @KenwoodGT Fraps is much better then Shittycam

  • @ 945672abc1 -> fag more ?

  • fraps sucks eat fps

  • 4 cores thats cool i have a 6 core with 3 all over clocked i almost have 5 ghz and i also have 8 gigs of ram and 600 watts and a xfx radeon 6850 thats over clocked and guess what your pc look like a 8 bit snes game to me but you wouldnt know what that is would you?

  • @xlaleclx Then tell why intel made a 6 core crappy processor too? battle field latest uses 6 cores u fool.

  • "Fraps suckssssss." ? NO, ypu pc sucks, especially CPU

  • @TurocKValentin C2D were great CPUs,but they're better than any console.

  • cool.but an hd 6850 on a 450 w psu(you should get a 550 w one for ocing) well good vid anyways

  • Core 2 duo are not for you lalalala

  • Get an AMD Phenom II x6 processor for amazing gameplay on gta 4

  • @TheCodProductiions A good quad core is better than a crappy 6 core in most cases.

  • @xlaleclx yes agree , but in case of AMD processsor , the Phenom II X6 oced to 3.8 Ghz wll be faster than Phenom II X4 oced to 3.8 Ghz , in games.

  • @gazzxr Isint it so obvious that a six core is faster then a quad core?

  • @xlaleclx not really because the six cores can handle more calculations then a quad core, even if you think that some apps are not enabled to run on six core, well now they do after an update ¬¬

  • @mrasidhu Games aren't meant to be ran on a six core processor, they will perform about on par with a quad core. In doing encoding and other CPU intensive tasks 6 cores will help but not in gaming. I doubt games will ever really support 6 cores, it was just AMDs crappy little processor they put out between 4 and 8 cores.

  • @xlaleclx You obviously don't know what are you talking about... OBVIOUSLY

  • @gazzxr I think I know a considerable amount more than you.

  • @xlaleclx I will have to reject that claim.

  • @gazzxr Well your Moar cores= moar better claim seems to show that.

  • @xlaleclx

    Quad fanboy stfu

  • @CoolHacks4Free2 Yeah, you're smart.

  • you need quad core if you want those fps to go up

  • nice but i wonder why dont u get 50 to 60 fps without fraps becuz your graphics card is really gr8

  • @Ajmal1100 that's because of processor. Heavy games eat processor... But I still suggest to overclock GPU also.

  • @FrostlordTheWizard how can i oc my gpu???

  • @roseonly4rose You can do it in your ATI Catalyst center (ATI OVERDRIVE) or you can get MSI Afterburner (which I suggest). Good luck!
