nd I also want to point out that the video concept for the song, Paradise,(you know, the elephant not fitting into society thing?) is a blatant rip off of the Blind Melon vid, No Rain: Odd tap dancing little Girl dressed up like a bee doesn't fit into society -- so wanders around searching for acceptance. Finally sees an open field with other ppl dressed up as bees and they accept her into the clan....and they dance. The elephant video is a ****ing rip off!!!!!

@zoxEmoRoXasxoz Listen. You said they don't sound the same, meaning that both songs have no similarities whatsover. On the other hand, I tell you they have almost no difference, meaning that they sound so similar that it is obvious coldplay stole the rythm from satriani. I believe I cleared that out. If you think that "the same" and "no difference" are the exact sama thing consider revising their definitions.

Anybody who says Joe Satriani is greedy or anything of the sort doesn't know what the fuck they're talking about. Satriani wrote "If I Could Fly" as a tribute to his wife, you'd be pissed off if somebody took it and said they wrote it, too.

Satriani's one of the best guitarists in history and has been making groundbreaking music longer than many of you have been alive. Coldplay would be lucky to have half as much talent in their hold band as Joe Satriani does reflecting off of his head.

they made the song way better? and i mean does joe s really need any more money? what a little greedy bastard, an annoying riff that was made into a beautiful song is good....he should be thanking coldplay. i could listen to viva la vida 20 times without getting bored, but if "i could fly" went on my ipod i would just shuffle to the next song. and im the guy who actually loves rock and roll. joe s isnt rock and roll

Honestly people? What are Joe Satriani and Coldplay both fantastic at? Making chord progressions that are catchy and phenomenal. Eventually, these chords were going to have to resurface in another great song. They are too memorable to leave alone, hence the outrageous popularity of Viva la Vida. Even if they did receive inspiration from it, Coldplay knows to ask permission. Its happened before.
