Is the Virtual box fault or does not Windows 8 support wide-screen resolution? My edition of the customer preview (installed using virtual box) can't use any wide-screen resolutions, it suck :S
Anyone know how to configure this so it actually works (with a wide-screen res.)?
Can someone tell me is there a rather simple way to remove it if it starts messing up? And do the other users on the computer see the same launcher or is it just on one?
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration has been enabled, but is not operational. Your 64-bit guest will fail to detect a 64-bit CPU and will not be able to boot.
Please ensure that you have enabled VT-x/AMD-V properly in the BIOS of your host computer.
@OdyOwnz I had the same problem. Then I rebooted, went into my BIOS settings and enabled virtualization. Either that will work or you have a 32-bit or old processor.
VT-x/AMD-V hardware acceleration is not available on your system. Certain guests (e.g. OS/2 and QNX) require this feature and will fail to boot without it.

@duncan33303 i have 64 bit laptop and i download the 64 bit windows 8 preview thingy and i got to the virtual box part and like the part where the thing is loading it said my windows dont have a 64bit thing... can u help?
@nefz117 it actually is meant for slates. Right now, there is the Samsung Series 7 and Asus eee ep121 and Asus eee b121. They support this, but sometime near the end of the year, micorsoft is going to release a big line of slates. Since these slates as a whole will make more sales than the iPad, since these slates will replace laptops, literally.
Ok so I followed all the steps but for some reason at the expanding files part of the installation of windows 8 it seems to be stuck at 30% been there for that for about 20 min. Is there anything I could do.

@kyogre504 Just delete the virtual machine and uninstall VirtualBox. Be sure to have it delete the Windows 8 .vid file so you get back your hard drive space.
@Windows7Fan1 hi if you dont like xp goto my channel and watch how to get windows 7 free and then you should have enough ram to get the developer preview in a virtual machine anyway do not replace your main OS for a developer preview cuz then you will have to pay for xp or 7 back because it runs out after a certain ammount of time
Do you think this works on a XP computer with AMD 64 and 2 GB of RAM without Virtualbox/PC? I really wanna replace Windows XP cuz I dont like the style and its slow. -.-

how will i uninstall windows 8 afterwards?
kyogre504 5 months ago
@kyogre504 Just delete the virtual machine and uninstall VirtualBox. Be sure to have it delete the Windows 8 .vid file so you get back your hard drive space.

@Windows7Fan1 hi if you dont like xp goto my channel and watch how to get windows 7 free and then you should have enough ram to get the developer preview in a virtual machine anyway do not replace your main OS for a developer preview cuz then you will have to pay for xp or 7 back because it runs out after a certain ammount of time
TheiPodTouchTips 5 months ago
Do you think this works on a XP computer with AMD 64 and 2 GB of RAM without Virtualbox/PC? I really wanna replace Windows XP cuz I dont like the style and its slow. -.-
