Hilarious. The original ''Front Page Challenge'' really was this dry. I'm 49,Canadian and this rings very true. Canadian celebrities really were like this. The real show lasted way too many years. I grew up with those wildlife ads. Great satire.
Truly just like the pompous doofuses on the old CBC 'Front Page Challenge'... Watching FPChallenge when I was a child, I remember thinking, "Golly, is everyone in Toronto that boring and uptight?"
Oh my god ....this reminds me of canadian television in the 70's...it was so fuckin bad. We have come along way. Some great canadian shows now....but one thing i have to say canadian actors try to hard...watch the border ....fuck do they over act...its awful
@MrBasilGanglia Do you have a few hours??? Sorry, but I'm not going to tell you my life's story, and quite honestly, are the facts of my personal life really your business??
@MrBasilGanglia Americans never had the capacity to appreciate, or understand Canadian humour, which is of the purest kind. They just scratch their lice-infested heads saying "Duh I don't get it."
@Bagelbutcher - That makes no sense. In fact the most famous Canadian comedians are the ones who make it big in the U.S. Even SCTV was picked up in the U.S. If Americans couldn't understand Canadian comedy, then why do they fork out millions to see them star in their TV shows and movies? I think it would be more realistic to say that most Americans don't have the capacity to be as funny as Canadians, but they certainly appreciate Canadian comedy.
@Bagelbutcher As an american ii really take exception to your comment. Most americans I know love canadian humour in fact most of my own sense of humour is molded in the canadian fashion. We aren't just a bunch of booger eating morons you know. I really get tired of people ganging up on us all the time.
@auntbecky Take no mind of that ignoramus - he or she doesn't speak for the overwhelming majority of us who appreciate the US - and thanks for that compliment about our sense of humour
This set up another gag later in the show, A woodchuck gets run over during the filming of a commercial. it happens in the Movie "Garth, Gord, Fiona & Alice" Brilliant comedy.
I remember watching this skit when I was in high school. It's so sick and brilliant. Black and white set and the only color comes from flesh and hair. Gotta love the endless buzzer. Even as a teenager I knew how awesome this skit was. Thank you for posting. I was looking for it for a long time.
"Tonight you see I have no mahsks to put on, eh." Anyone who had to suffer without cable in the 70s in Canada knows how painfully, hilariously accurate this is. This skit is indistinguishable from any of the infinite number of installments of Canada's longest running TV show, "Front Page Challenge". The CBC and the rest of the diabolical official Canadian government cultural establishment is the cement in the brick wall of boredom that is life north of the 49th. Just sayin'!
5:55 to 6:05 is the best part IMO!
