I think it's funny that the bands that you list are all of the "same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again" except 20-30 years older. Ok first of all, if you want to be taken seriously as a fan of PF, learn how to properly spell the bandmembers' names. It's "David Gilmour" not "Gilmore," "Syd Barrett" not "Sid" or "Cid," and "Seamus" not "Shamus." Also, you might want to try to edit out the typos before you post your comment.
And saying that Gilmour can't sing or write is just foolish and ignorant. He co-wrote "Comfortably Numb" and many other great songs not to mention sang parts of many of the songs.

WTF is with the cartoon sound effects and crappy yelling shit added to it. Also although it is Roger Waters' version it has been slightly sped up. Some goof tried his hand at a remix, but ended up with an Epic Fail with this shit.

I think it's funny that the bands that you list are all of the "same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again" except 20-30 years older. You just bought into the idea that all of those mainstream, corporate whores were somehow transcending pop status. "Teens these days" have a much broader selection of great music because of the internet, and now, for the first time, a band can reach its audience without needing a huge recording contract and 24/7 radio play.

@eddiechilton Well it is a double edged sword as we all know one the one hand there has been a systematic lowering of standards to marketing commercial bilge..on the other the access to recording has definitely democratized itself..the real question is do you sincerely believe that music in this day and age is better than in the 60? and 7's?????? The proof is in the pudding and so much music nowadays would never make it disassociated from vulgar sex vids and million dollar marketing campaigns!

Ok first of all, if you want to be taken seriously as a fan of PF, learn how to properly spell the bandmembers' names. It's "David Gilmour" not "Gilmore," "Syd Barrett" not "Sid" or "Cid," and "Seamus" not "Shamus." Also, you might want to try to edit out the typos before you post your comment.
And saying that Gilmour can't sing or write is just foolish and ignorant. He co-wrote "Comfortably Numb" and many other great songs not to mention sang parts of many of the songs.

@dankwarth - sorry, but I think you over do it a little bit. The quality of a good melody does not depend on the quantity of chords. You cant compare pop or rock with complex jazz or classial music. Every kind of music has its right to exist. for instance I love Classic but I am happy that there such a big variety of genres and styles.

At first they-re saying "Lechaim!"- it means "to life!"- it's a phrase you say before you drink a toast. At 0:13 somebody's saying "where are you going?" . At 0:33 somebody is shouting "Slichot" (special prayers recited in the weeks preceding Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement) . At 1:51 he says "it was my mom's, my father gave it to her for their wedding". I really don't get the connection of the last sentence, but the first two are taking the song to a Jewish view, maybe.
