Just got a set of rims identical to those for free, not quite as good of shape (a little rusty) but still oughta look sweet. Also my last post was right! I pulled the turbo out and im in the process of finding a carbed 302 for it.
@FordNissanChevy it must have sucked you had to sell it i would have raced you in a haertbeat i actual have cragurs on my 74 vw bug now before you call it suck think vw bug pushing 200 hp 5 speed getting fiberglass fernders and biulding a fiber glass hood and decklid but the is one crazy ranger Carrol Shelby your truck is here rock on man and hope you biuld another

i bought the truck as is. Its a 302 from 1974, which means it more than likely out of an truck, its also connected to c4 transmission, which was also from trucks or muscle cars, but i think its all from an f100
Looks awsome to me- i like the cragar mags n raised letter tires- the side pipes are wicked as well. i like the added emblems on the side too. Super cool truck guy!
My mom had a 85 crown vic that was supe sweet - i wanted to get some wide slotted or cragar mags, raised letter tires and side pipes with air shocks on it- woulda looked super cool - but some idiot decided to run into it and smashed the hell out of it- we ended up selling it. It had a 302 in it.
a 94 AWD talon does 0-60 on 11psi(stock wastegate boost pressure) in 6.6 sec in stock trim.. 20psi built motor on stock heatsoaked intercooler unfortunately [till i get my frontmount intercooler on] + awd launch from a dig.. i say itd be fun :).
can't be the (2.8 L) V6 was the biggest engine Ford put in the Mustang in '74, also '74 marked the first year for the Pinto based Mustang II and 1974 was also the only year that Ford did not offer a V8 in the Mustang, 1975 marked the return of V8 power to the Mustang,
sorry to bring ya down, but in 1974 Ford introduced the Pinto based Mustang II and the Mach 1 variant in '74, was powered by a 171 cu in (2.8 L) V6, the 1974 model year was the only year that Ford did not offer a V8, the 302w returned in 1975, thus it can't even be from a Mustang II let alone a Mach 1, i am thinking maybe its a Torino motor? or maybe even a truck motor, its hard to say without running the engine code,
well i hate to be a smart ass, but the BOSS 302 was only offered for 1969 and 1970 in the Mustang, thus its a '74 and not a factory BOSS, but it could be a self made BOSS as that is not impossible, but i highly doubt this motor is a reproduction BOSS, as it has 6 bolts on the valve covers which the BOSS does not have, the BOSS motors have Cleveland heads, and a speical intake, and 4 bolt mains, and screw in freeze plugs, there a very different beast, its more than a name for sure!
I said I think it was a BOSS 302. I wasnt sure of it but it looks like you know. Its an older truck and it has the cobra emblem on it and it was a 302 and the only thing that came to mind when you combine mustang and 302 is the BOSS 302. Either way they are both sweet engines
I bet your sidesteps get hot haha

Nice, looks like my truck. Ive got a 4cyl turbo in mine, but i think the heads cracked so I might stick a EFI high output 5.0L in it.

@FordNissanChevy not withf the cobra tags... it probably came from a 302 V8 powered Super Cobra...

chorstma44 2 years ago
the engine was made in 1974, i have a hunch its from a mach 1, I'll have to look at the engine code.

74 that's mach 1 baby most likely

The 302 was built in '74. The Cobra emblems dont mean it was a boss, but you can call it one now.
