The calculation for range is based on what the fuel pump is using, and i assume you have disconnected that. So it will be calculating MPG from your last drive with the GAS engine !!!
Good observations Jack. I think you are right that the vehicle industry will feel the impact in a variety of ways from the Japan-related events. Good work. Still hoping to do my conversion soon on my GT-40 kit car on VW pan w/4pd trans. I will be probably starting from scratch with a custom frame since my original pan is quite pooched. Right now, the motor is in the rear(12-A mazda rotary 1982) married to a stock 67 VW transaxle. Or I might just find a good pan that isn't rotten yet. I live in NC so there are some good ones around. The car is now 33 yrs old since build. Time to restore!
