Point being that children should not be taught about the bible, especially in school. They are not capable of understanding it at that age. Having an extensive education myself it's still extemely diffulct to grasp - AND to believe. Children show be able to grow and make their own decisions as adults to choose whether faith in any religion.
I wish as a child I could have seen Battles BC instead of hearing the cute fairytales that were taught us in bible school. I realize now that my bible school teachingss were all about lies and deceipt and to put fear into us kids in order to have CONTROL - which was the foundation of the Catholic church.
this is so wrong they crossed the red sea to the mount sinai in Saudi arabia, however the real mount sinai in Arabia is blocked by the arabian military today because Jews and christians kept going there, eventually they fenced off.
@ImaginedWriter There has been debates whether the Jews or Hebrews were enslaved in Eqypt. There has been mistranslations of Hebrew texts regarding their status in Eqypt. Ancient Egyptian texts also never mentioned an entire ethnic group being enslaved in their country. Some scholars debated whether the Habiru mentioned in Ancient Eqyptian texts were the same as the Hebrews.
@ImaginedWriter Correct. That's because they were Habiru back then. The becames "Jews" upon naming themselves after the tribe of Judah centuries later. Still the same people. No evidence of "Americans" 1,000 years ago (Americans are named after the European settlers): Does that mean that there were no English, French, etc.., 1,000 years ago in Europe, etc..? (these are the people who changed their names to Americans, NOT the Indians living here before that.
Exodus 13:17 doesn't say that at all. It says nothing of them being armed. This whole thing is fabricated and false. This series is a sham, and its a good thing they got rid of it.
The Bible is a book filled with religious truths but full of historical errors. So, there is a possibility that this was true. One should not take the Bible's narration literally but should instead look at its message to us which is God's love towards us.
i know i was just saying that the reason that Moses freaked out and ordered the death of his own people was becasue of the commandment worship no other god but me and that they were worshiping a false idol, the guys here make it sound like it was solely for making an example, but i think Moses actually believed in the commandments and the desecration of them was a sin.
i agree what this basically told me was that the Jews have had a long history of taking land not theirs, and killing people, if that is the Jewish history i am not really surprised about how they are dealing with the middle east. i like the bible story more becasue at least that says the Israelite s were fighting for their survival, not for conquest, not to slaughter everyone they can, who would want to say that was their peoples history, we butcher everyone in our way.
also pharaoh did not change his mind, he knew it would take him time to raise his forces to complete a Hebrew genocide, to avoid fighting the Hebrews so close to the imperial city, He allowed them to leave knowing his chariot forces could catch up to them somewhere else where his people and his city were in no more danger of conflict. this unfortunately proves his downfall as his entire army is lost and the Hebrews escape.
ever since the Hebrews crossed the red sea (however they did it) they have had to fight almost everyday for their existence, it is not hard to believe Moses or the Hebrews becoming warriors to defend themselves and reach their holy land.
@MAnnaconduit1 They invaded another people's territory, commited genocide and took their women and land.
The jews deserved everything they ever got. The Assyrians were karma on those scum bags. And I bet that another Assyria will come along on the modern incarnation, and hopefully the west will do so to as it did in ancient times, Rome at first supported Israel but then realised what dicks they were and rightfully destroyed them.
I like this story because the History channel took a BS story and added some dog poo and smeared it on the top,and then they urinated around the base of the story before they decided to blow the story up and make it more of a bs story!
This series is not asking anyone to accept the account of Moses as a great military commander as the only explanation. Instead, they are suggesting that the story can be read from a military standpoint. It does not have a Cecil B. DeMille quality, but it is an interesting perspective regarding Moses role in the Exodus.
wirungari you sound the idiot. I would think that everyone is interested in seeing how things really happened, not the fairy tale version but if you wish to believe that Moses lived 600 years then go for it.
I'm really tired of these goyim commentators in the documentary re-writing the Bible, they weren't there, what do they know? they just look like idiots every time they try to sell the Bible tales as lies & then re-invent their own tales. this is absolutely ridiculous.
@ThaiBox7788 what a very ignorant statement, your ancestors weren't even in the vicinity of the events taking place. why don't you go & pretend to be a professional historian of your own asian history instead of telling me about my ancestors history in the Bible.
@wirungari I'm not a professional historian but I am a grad student in Roman history. I'm also 75% caucasian and only a quarter Japanese. In fact, I believe its better when one studying a historical subject doesnt have an ancestral conection to it, theres less chance of them being bias. All I was doing was stating a fact.
imagine being in pharaohs army and walking through the desert touching your friend in-front of you on the shoulder as to not stumble ; as a scorpion or poison snake bites your feet. ouch and bye bye.
"Let my people go so that they can worship our god in the desert."
THAT'S what Moses said. So the Egyptians were lead to believe that the "Hebrews" would return after worshiping their "desert god".
And the "Hebrews" asked to borrow the Egyptians gold and silver jewelry. So the Egyptians lent it to them, thinking they'd RETURN them after coming back to Egypt. But the "Hebrews" DIDN'T return. And THAT'S why "The Pharaoh" chased after them.
@ThaiBox7788 Funny thing is that all Jews know their history. Only it sounds "totally unbelievable" to the goyim.
Even hundreds of years later, when Alexander The Great took over most of the world, the Egyptians brought a Civil Suit against the Jews before Alexander, claiming the Jews had STOLEN all that gold & silver back when they left Egypt. Alexander held court & concluded that since the Jews were held as slaves for 417 years, that therefore the gold & silver was just payment.
The translation to hebrew of the history expert is not so correct. The word "Avadim" in Hebrew is indeed slaves. There might be some confusion since there is the word "Ovdim" which means "workers". Let me summerize:
