1 electrode welding -welding with electrodes

2 mig/mag welding with gas?or without it i saw somewhere you can do it with and with out it is that right? im getting confused to all the different weldings

3 tig welding-with gas

welding is good for personal use but its not a good way to pay your bills. i took classes in high school, then onto ivy tech and passed the coarse with good grades. i've welded for 2 years at a shop starting out at 6 bucks an hour then left the job at 9.60 an hour. been welding another shop for 6 years and am only making 14 bucks and hour. yes there are stories of some welders making more but not many.

@mwdesigns21, i'm a good welder and have the transcripts to prove it, and i go to work every day because i have a mortgage and other bills to pay, the fact is that the shop i work for doesnt pay much i guess because they are non union not to mention the place is going down hill due to certain management leaving the company.

@moto9ll It's not "That you can weld" it's where you're willing to weld. I've got friends up in the tar sands in Canada near the arctic making A LOT of money ... you fly into a work camp ... you sleep in an army type barracks and you work 18 hours a day .... Money is a function of scarcity .. if there are 3000 other dudes in town with the same skills ... then they don't need to pay big bucks ...

Wow seriously? F'in retarded people need to relax. Stop being morons. I think this would be a very helpful video, it looks great. Fubang grow up!.. Some people dont WANT to be welders. In my automotive class a month of this welding course is mandatory. I dont want to take it, but I have to! On day 2 today, and already got a grade on a project!! Never welded before in my life. I agree that it is a skill that takes a lot of training, but my instructor doesn't seem to think so!

learning to weld anything is a usefull knowledge. Even around the house. Instead of using wood to make something you can use metal and it is so much stronger and last forever because a weld is so strong, much stronger than nailing or screwing wood together.

It's not hard, but to do it properly takes practice. The hardest one is arc welding with aluminum, not tig, or mig, but arc. In fact I have never seen anyone post it on you tube. I should post it one of these days if I have time.
