This is like Picaso's ugly paintings (some like it, a lot does not).
You have the core (sound vibrations in this case) but you don't have tha pattern. This is like runing with one short and one long leg... it's just not easy on the eye and it's not practical.
the best way to to come up with new original music. try listing to instrumental stuff backwards that's what i do some time to come up with new stuff. it really works.
This isn't experimental. This is some guys who don't have any inclination in actually learning to play any instruments, so just for the sake of "Art", pretend they are doing something revolutionary.
@Kesava1975 hahahha...funny but sad .. you cant use the right side of the brain
u probably practice for years to master one instrument ... what really sucks is that u can only play song all ready made or make song that sound exactly like anothers
@aziziMY but no song will give you the same feeling. Thats what experimental means to me anyway. maybe you agree? you were looking for something when you found this.
@JoshLevier thats the thing about NORMAL poeple in the world ... alway looking for something ..like a song givin to there we little ears ... to listen too...with left side of brain.. lol.... pfft u think there weird ... ayo that guitar plinking was ill tho.. im going to use it to create somthing normal people could enjoy .. hopefully not while on drugs
yeah, this is great! good tunes! pls, also check out our video, just type, jam experiment video file 3. we are still amateurs, so dont be harsh.. pls leave a comment, thanks!
oh man this is a tough pill to swallow... its so different than just music. you dont dance to it, you dont predict it, you dont think about it, its just there in the now and you let it work on your brain and do some crazy stuff.
Zappa once said that this type of art form would be most apropriate to be categorized as "experimental sounds" since the definition of music is a rythm, melody & harmony... however art & beauty is all in the eye of the beholder! but when a piece lacks direction or a theme it merely becomes a blind ant going around in circles to get nowhere!
i like noisecore and shite like that but that involves skill. john cage did some cool things with pianos and shite, that was experimental. what sort of experiment are these guys trying to conduct? theyre not making interesting, skilled or pleasent noises. is that really the aim of experimental music? cos if it is then anyone who likes experimental music is fucking retarded. and i dont think they are, more likely this is just fucking appalling noise
Skill might be overrated. Maybe someone with less skill or practice than someone with more might make a more interesting sound or composition or not. Maybe retardation is what makes life and the world move ahead in a positive direction. maybe noise made by retarded experimentalist is what we need. or maybe the sounds of shite and fucking could be the best things to make experimental recording of. I don't know but maybe.
this video makes experimental music look like its a genre for people who cant play instruments, or even sing a note for that matter. at least have some structure if you are going to call it music
I wouldn't say this is experimental at all. What gets me is the method on how these sounds are performed. It's developed it's own category and genre "Experimental". If you listen to Experimental Radio, it all sounds the same, and it's made the same way. People have been creating random sounds with air and string instruments since adam and eve. Frustrated musicians have turned to improvised noise. Real Experimental is innovative and creative beyond the masses. This simple is not.
i disagree, if you perform this music maybe you would see where the experimentation takes place. You walk into a room of talented musicians and begin to create a sound and you have NO idea where this sound is going to go or do.
Complete improvisation, and more fun than any kind of music i have yet to perform. I am a successful and not at all frustrated musician.
I agree with Abbelin, I have taken a class on music theory with David Dvorin, who teaches music composition at CSU, Chico. He does not only experimental, but also sampled electronica. He builds textures and soundscapes from a mixture of synth and various instruments(as well as sounds of a chicken). The textures envelop you into a world that he has created. Some parts of an experiment fail, but o say that this is not real innovation, is however, incorrect.
this isnt real inovation though, improvisation is fun when you make a noise that sounds good in conjunction with whats around you. it can be dissonant. your teacher may use chicken noises but if he can make it work into an enjoyable piece good. theyre improvising but not for the reasons imrovising is good
I disagree. I thought that the sounds did sound good in conjunction with the other sounds around. Then again, I find most any sounds around most any other sounds to sound good together, so I suppose I might not be a good judge of what sounds are good or bad with other sounds.
love this music-first year english students would love to make it to big sur some day-please check out our sample piece HEADHIT LIGHTWORKS on creechys channel
(((Noise Shock))) II annual abstract art & music fest is this July 9th,10th,11th in Chicago & east Moline,, w/t ARU,STM X+X,EYES, Jesus is Angry, FluiD, ONO, el Diablo Blanca, and a ton more
Aw what a pity , I was hoping someone might take me to task for my criticism of the "singing". I was just about to reply minwmum miinmwium wunka junka mkoo mkoo mimim.
The world needs more music like this. The vocals are a bit daft though. If it wasn't for that I'd say it was brilliant. The only way for music to evolve is to experiment and try something different sometimes. I think. Otherwise it becomes too boring and predictable. Like radio music.
oh god i hope youre on acid. anyways john cage has been there done that. music has an innate power to affect the emotions; stop denying it! If you assign any meaning to the these sounds its completely false and shouldn't be worshiped in such distasteful expression. rock on!
@PoptabLove if you mean this might have anything to do with Nine Inch Nails you are sadly mistaken. This music would owe its linage to Schoenberg, Varese and Cage. Trevor's god money just helps to make it pretty for your little ears.
This is my favorite song. Rofl! Check out my Experimental tracks!

the only way to like experimental music to have either had a drug trip, or be on one.
seriously, this stuff DOES NOT GET YOU PAID AND WILL NOT PAY YOUR BILLS UNLESS YOU GET A GRANT.
gabbalabbawoop 1 year ago
@gabbalabbawoop You don't have to be on a drug trip to enjoy experimental music. Do you have any idea how wide the term experimental music is?
Also do you honestly think they care whether or not they make a gazillion dollars playing music? Music isn't about getting rich.
