This is like Picaso's ugly paintings (some like it, a lot does not).

You have the core (sound vibrations in this case) but you don't have tha pattern. This is like runing with one short and one long leg... it's just not easy on the eye and it's not practical.

the best way to to come up with new original music. try listing to instrumental stuff backwards that's what i do some time to come up with new stuff. it really works.

Zappa once said that this type of art form would be most apropriate to be categorized as "experimental sounds" since the definition of music is a rythm, melody & harmony... however art & beauty is all in the eye of the beholder! but when a piece lacks direction or a theme it merely becomes a blind ant going around in circles to get nowhere!

Skill might be overrated. Maybe someone with less skill or practice than someone with more might make a more interesting sound or composition or not. Maybe retardation is what makes life and the world move ahead in a positive direction. maybe noise made by retarded experimentalist is what we need. or maybe the sounds of shite and fucking could be the best things to make experimental recording of. I don't know but maybe.

I wouldn't say this is experimental at all. What gets me is the method on how these sounds are performed. It's developed it's own category and genre "Experimental". If you listen to Experimental Radio, it all sounds the same, and it's made the same way. People have been creating random sounds with air and string instruments since adam and eve. Frustrated musicians have turned to improvised noise. Real Experimental is innovative and creative beyond the masses. This simple is not.

i disagree, if you perform this music maybe you would see where the experimentation takes place. You walk into a room of talented musicians and begin to create a sound and you have NO idea where this sound is going to go or do.

Complete improvisation, and more fun than any kind of music i have yet to perform. I am a successful and not at all frustrated musician.

I agree with Abbelin, I have taken a class on music theory with David Dvorin, who teaches music composition at CSU, Chico. He does not only experimental, but also sampled electronica. He builds textures and soundscapes from a mixture of synth and various instruments(as well as sounds of a chicken). The textures envelop you into a world that he has created. Some parts of an experiment fail, but o say that this is not real innovation, is however, incorrect.

this isnt real inovation though, improvisation is fun when you make a noise that sounds good in conjunction with whats around you. it can be dissonant. your teacher may use chicken noises but if he can make it work into an enjoyable piece good. theyre improvising but not for the reasons imrovising is good

I disagree. I thought that the sounds did sound good in conjunction with the other sounds around. Then again, I find most any sounds around most any other sounds to sound good together, so I suppose I might not be a good judge of what sounds are good or bad with other sounds.

The world needs more music like this. The vocals are a bit daft though. If it wasn't for that I'd say it was brilliant.The only way for music to evolve is to experiment and try something different sometimes. I think. Otherwise it becomes too boring and predictable. Like radio music.
