To the people saying he should have stayed on, he did the right thing. Had he stayed on the bike, he would have hurt himself alot worse, possibly breaking his pelvis and lower back, due to the bike coming down on flat ground. He was WAY past any point of safe landing on the transistion of that landing. Better to toss the bike and take your chances. You're gonna break some bones, just have to decide which ones you want to break. Thats part of jumping large distances.

@tubethis28 I've been riding MX for 22+ years. If you're tail low, hit the back brake (right foot) and it brings the back of the bike up. I studied engineering for two years. I got an "A" grade in Calculus and Calculus based Physics as well as the lab. I have a four year University degree. I've been on crutches 7 times. 5 of which were due to motorcycle crashes. One from a Jeep rollover. Another from hurdles. Total bones broken? ZERO. I know how to crash and better how to avoid a crash.

Apparently a lot of today's youth have never been taught limits by their parents. You can rant and rave all day long, call me chicken, whatever you feel like you have to get out, BUT.....to call something like this "Extreme" does not quite do it. More like "way stupid". Ask a few who have been laid up or worse from just this sort of thing. I believe that health insurance companies should establish grounds for not paying for certain injurites when caused by stupidness.
I agree. He could easily have landed if he had stayed on. His bike landed very well on its own. The bikes have suspension mechanisms for a REASON: suspension takes the worst impact out of the landing.
@xxBEExSTINGxx He might have been in worse shape... think about it. There's no way in hell the suspension could take that fall, so it would bottom out immediately. Then there's nothing stopping him from hitting the ground at the same speed, except instead of landing in dirt he'd be landing on the bike. What's better, breaking your legs on dirt ground or caving in your head and chest on a big hunk of steel? Can't know for sure obviously but I definitely don't blame him for choosing to jump.

I agree. He could easily have landed if he had stayed on. His bike landed very well on its own. The bikes have suspension mechanisms for a REASON: suspension takes the worst impact out of the landing.

If he wouldn't of balled at the end he wouldn't have broke all those bones the suspention would have gone down and it wouldn't be that bad of a crash

@xxBEExSTINGxx He might have been in worse shape... think about it. There's no way in hell the suspension could take that fall, so it would bottom out immediately. Then there's nothing stopping him from hitting the ground at the same speed, except instead of landing in dirt he'd be landing on the bike. What's better, breaking your legs on dirt ground or caving in your head and chest on a big hunk of steel? Can't know for sure obviously but I definitely don't blame him for choosing to jump.

i did the same thing but my dumbass friend jumped the landing from left to right while i was landing and we meet in the middle. broke my collar bone tottaly in half, shattered my shoulder blade, a couple ribs and most important. fucked up my cr

Looking at this he would of been better off just letting the bike take the impact first and then try to ride it out , cuz i bet he wouldnt of broke many bones as the suspension took the hard hit of the impact first.

Pretty funny. People think oh just tap the brake,he was so far looped out if he hit his back then his front he still wouldn't have made it. He should have stuck with the bike though to try take some of the impact. Pretty shitty to see somebody get that hurt,hope u healed up good mang.
