I can see someone who doesn't know what an elk sounds like and going out and getting scared shitless by the very first bugle in the video, the one that sounds more like a scream lol
I live in NW Montana, and it used to be a pretty regular thing to hear an elk bugle like this in the fall. But since the greenies shoved these wolves down our throats and they're now overpopulated, elk are getting more and more rare in these parts. A great big thanks to all the bunny huggers out there!!!!!!!!! Down with wolves!!!!! Long live the elk!!!!!!!
I don't have enough words to describe how beautiful this is. Also, I can't even imagine what it's like to be actually there. It gives me chills down the spine.
I AM only twelve years old and shot a 5x5 Bull on public land heard the calls 100 yards away soo amazing I can't even explain how amazing and spine tingling those sounds re that close.
I have a elk hunt up in 16A South West New Mexico Sept. 19th thru the 24 and can't hardly stand it, I'm so excited... I grew up in the Gila and have wanted the 3rd sence I was in high school! I've spent everyday I've had off scouting and found me a canyon that I call bull canyon, just a few more weeks!!!!
I've got my hunt in unit 34 starting tomorrow. I won't be up until wednesday, but I found a wallow that is getting hit HARD! No human sign anywhere in sight. They were rutting on Thursday when I went scouting
PETA folks are maniacs and I don't know what ALF is. At age 70 I've simply lived long enough to see a lot of people and animals die. It still leaves a hole in my heart. As a veterinarian's assistant I've helped put animals out of their misery. That's as close as I want to come to killing. Because of this view, I don't eat meat. But I'm happy to see you go your own way, Shooting to eat is fine by me. .I suspect that you're a thoughtful nature lover. Happy hunting, and take care.
This whole frame is breathtaking, but the bi-color, six-prong elk bugling as he walks through the snow is humbling and especially majestic. There's something very wrong when a human wants to kill, decapitate and hang such beautiy on a wall. It defies understanding. Thank you for shooting only with your camera.
Hunters are the original Conservationists. Do some research. Muir, Leopold, Roosevelt. While your at it look into population dynamics. You can't effectively manage populations without a freeing up resources for winter survival rates. 92k elk in 1910, 2 million elk now. How much money do you contribute to natural resources? Hunters contribute 11.5% on everything they purchase for hunting, not to mention tags, licenses, donations and memberships.
You are correct, about Muir, Roosevelt, et al. I know that a certain number of creatures must be culled when the population gets too dense. It is simply on a personal level that I find it heartbreaking to see a grand and venerable buck brought down.Hopefully, the hunter will feel reverence and appreciation.I don't buy licenses and tags but I do contribute to several organizations which support our natural resources and work for the humane treatment of animals.
Every time I listen to this and close my eyes instead of elk I see griffins lol
