Hmm...not bad, but a little weird for Caucasian to be named tetsuo. If they actual made this movie I hope it would be Americanized 100 percent. They should change names, characters, setting, plot. I'm a fan of Akira and it's japanese masterpiece. i know that Hollywood isn't ethnically fair, so this is the best to hope for. Noted that many asian actors get passed over, but sometimes things just can't be authentic. Sometimes the people in charge are just idiots.

Notbad guys! I am worried about the upcoming American remake of Akira. I feel like American Audiences won't be able to accept the ambiguity of the ending of Akira (which is what made it so amazing). You can watch the anime Akira over and over again and pick up subtle nuances of the characters and all their motivations. The ending is interesting and is open to interpretation but most Americans don't like to leave the movies without being spoonfed the meaning of a movie and it's ending.
