@sonicadx A vehicle has acceleration status. If it's high, you don't need to stand-turbo, but if it has low acceleration, you need to stand-turbo. If in the middle, it depends on how fast it'll go in acceleration.

NB: I am probably the biggest fan of Mario Kart 64, MKSC, MK DS and above all, SMK, that you would ever meet so don't tell me I'm being unfair on this game, it is an abomination to the glory that is (or rather was) Mario Kart. Hell, it makes Double Dash seem perfect! Not that DD wasn't brilliant, Goldeneye-like fun with a bunch of friends, something that MKWii is not.

Mario Kart Wii would be good if it focused on good racing tracks, not the stupid trick system, if it based its tracks on real Mario canon rather than strange crap, if the button setup wasn't retarded (re: the brake/jump button: wtf?) if the time trial wasn't terrible based off the dodgy handling and gameplay, if there was no time trial glitch, if battle mode was focused on fun, if the MK channel had better UI, if the characters didn't fail, the retro tracks had good grafx btw new items r bad too

The time trials are mainly based on wheelies and taking tight corners, the online clan play is based on teamplay and item luck, button set up for gcn is nearly the same as for DD, whining about characters and user interfaces is like, fail. the only thing your actually stating a good point at is that the new items suck. make a reply once you played this game properly/

I own the game. I want a flagship Wii title. Mario KArt Wii seems to have become that title, but it deserves not such praise. It is awful. The brake button is the same as the jump button. The new additions are all gimicky AND poorly implemented, especially the tricks, which are like watching little cutscenes. And I'm allowed to moan about anything I like in this game, because it should have all been perfect, being the sixth Mario Kart exlcuding the Namco arcade ones. MK Wii is all so imperfect.

I like the other Mario Karts, they're not fundamentally flawed, nor are they teeming with imperfecetions, oversights and sloppy design in the tracks, music, graphics, handling, gameplay and even UI. In fact I love the other Mario Karts, which makes me hate this abonimation all the worse to me. And I could beat you at thiws game if you gave me your friend code, although to be frank I'd rather not play it.
