  • What's that song ? :)

" I just got a bunny, and this will help me a lot" Thanks Hun

  • SO smart

  • neffy means va cute he is! And very good! That is sweedish!

  • WOW, I never knew a rabbit could do that. Forget quality shows! Filip is good enough to go to a dog show! And WIN!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to try that with my Rabbit. Can rescue Rabbits do it too?

  • Of course they can. ;) As long as they like treats and they like and trust YOU, you can train them. ;) It's just important to do it the right way in order to be successful. It's easy to train them the wrong way when using the clicker training method, since it's quite tricky to get it right if you don't know what you're doing. Just read as much as you can about clicker training before you start and watch instructional videos here on YouTube. ;) Good luck!

  • my rabbit look just like your he somehow got away that remains mystery we had both gates locked no way for him to get out we think coyote might have got him but no signs of struggle we posted signs it happened 2 years ago a looked on craiglist we think someone may have also took him and has him in our neighborhood and there kids have keeped him but have no way to find out. If you know of website where people post found bunnys I like to know.

  • I'm very sorry to hear that. I don't know of any lists like that, since I live in Sweden. But I'm really sorry to hear that your rabbit is gone. I know how much you can love a rabbit. :(

  • Wow, he's not only talented, but adorable!

  • Awww va söt han är! Och väldigt duktig!

  • Please Answer me, I don't know what to get to do Clicker Training , and where to get it. Also, You know how a rabbit dances , (Side kick jump) can i make it into a trick . AND AND , How do i get my rabbit to shake my hand doing clicker trainning.

    Your an ammazing Trainer

  • Thanks for your comment and sorry I haven't answered until now. You can get a clicker at pretty much any pet store. Getting him to side kick jump will probably be very hard, since they only do it when they're really happy or excited. You should really try to teach him easier things first before you take on the side kick jump (if ever). Shaking hands is also a hard one, but read up on clicker training as much as possible before you start and you'll figure out the rest while you read.

  • The tricks you want to teach him will require too much explanation to be posted in a comment. But what 's more important is to truely understand how clicker training works before you even start to try it on your rabbit. That's why I won't explain anything to you in the comments here, but suggest you to go and read as much about clicker training as you can instead before you start. ;) Good luck!

  • @Tinwelende i love rabbits and i need some advice. i bought a mini-rex bunny at a pet store about a month ago. the rabbit was abandoned by its owner and will barely let anyone pick him up.when i pet him its fine but when i actually get him in my hands he struggles to get away.sorry that im going off subject i just thought you'd be one of the best people to ask since you can clicker train your bunny.so can you tell me how i can pick him up safely and easy.PLEASE ANSWER!!

  • It will take a long time for the rabbit to fully trust you, especially if you're not firm and certain in your way of handling it, e.g. if you're not very used to carrying rabbits. If you go to rabbits.rabbitspeak. com, you will find many great tips on how to communicate with your rabbit and how to read it's signals right. That will take you far in gaining trust from your rabbit. It's hard to explain how, but just search YouTube for "How to pick up a rabbit" and you'll find lots!

  • @Tinwelende i have looked up tons of things like that before just the problem is he always runs away when i try so i cant get him

  • Then he just doesn't trust you enough. Some rabbits never become completely tame for some reason. It's very individual. It's the easiest to tame them when they're as young as possible. The older they become, the harder it gets. Taming them and gaining their trust takes time and requires you to spend all the time you can with the rabbit.Take it to a breeder or pet store where they are used to handling rabbits, so they can show you the best way to pick it up and hold it without it kicking.

  • Hey, hopefully I'm getting a mini lop bunny sometime soon, how long do you think I should wait until I start trying to train him/her. I don't want to stress her on the first day, because I could imagine a new home might be stressful enough for a little bunny, so how long should I give it? Thanks :)

  • Wait until you think he/she is tame enough and seems to trust you. Give it at least a week, I'd say. Good luck with your new rabbit and don't forget to read as much as you can about clicker training before you start!

  • @Tinwelende Awesome, thanks for your help! :)

  • wow! Amazing! Good job trainer :)

  • Thannk you! :)

  • Hi plz answer mee..........im just starting to clicker train my bunny and i can make him stand but only when i lift my hands up so is that a real trick or is it coz the treat is in my hand ?

  • It's cause the treat is in your hand. But if you keep doing that and add the word "up" or whatever word you prefer every single time he stands up (AS he is standing up), he'll start associating the word with the action. After a while (several days of training) you can try to just say the word without the hand lure. Just wait for it and repeat the word a couple of times. If he doesn't stand up anyways, raise your hand quickly and then reward after taking it down if he stands up even after that.

  • @Tinwelende i show him the treat but its not in my hand when i lift it and he doesnt reach for the treat just stands like i say

    ..............thanks for answering

  • What a cute bunny :p I LOVE flop eared bunnies!

  • My bun now goes in a litter box outside his cage. He seemed to prefer a specific spot to drop a pile of pellets, so I put a litter box there. Now that is where he prefers to poo, and especially likes to piddle in this box, as it is outside his cage. He rarely ever piddles in his cage anymore. Try placing a box outside the cage and placing some fecal pellets into it. Show the rabbit the poo, and give the bun some hay to eat as he/she goes. They prefer to poo when they eat and vice versa.

  • and i also let him out of the cage and block off some areas so he has a good amount of room and he doesn't seem to poop on the floor only everywhere in his cage and when i pick him up to put him on the couch he will go on the couch. so i don't know if i should train him some other way or to give him some more time to grow

  • He's still very young and most rabbits get better with age, poop-wise. Though, males are always a little bit messy and some male rabbits never poops in one corner of the cage. But just give it some time, move all the poop you see into his litter box and hopefully he'll get it eventually. To gain his trust more, try to feed him little treats from his hand and politely "ask him" if you can pet him before you do. If you hold your hand out infront and slightly over his head, he will turn his head

  • to the side if he doesn't want you to pet him and he'll lower his head if he thinks it's ok for you to pet him. Try to always make him think it's fun to be around you. Give him things to explore and give him little treats when he's been good (with moderation). With time you'll gain his trust and HOPEFULLY once he's reached adulthood, he's gotten his pooping in order, too. ;)

  • i have a new rabbit 2-3 months old and all he does is poke me with his nose to make me move out of the way : / and he poops all over his cage and i tried everything to make him go in his litter box but he just sleeps in it and i tried putting his litter in a cornor and he poops on it but he also poops everywhere as well :P and i hade him for 1 month now and i don't think he likes me that much. and everytime i try to pick him up he start running away and when i put him on the couch he poops on it

  • 5 stars very cool

Filip is one obideant bunny :) a real tribute to the love and devotion you have for one another

Can't wait to bring my bunny home in a few weeks just waiting for him to wean ( Flemish giant )

How did you teach him the lie down trick ???

  • Thank you! Actually, that trick was just in the process of being taught. He was tired after doing the other tricks, so I knew he'd lay down. So right as I saw that he was about to, I said the word "lay down" ("ligg" in Swedish) and he automatically did and got rewarded for it. If I would've continued doing this for a few days (or weeks, maybe) he'd soon associate the word and the action with each other and hopefully do it on command. But for some reason I never finished training him to lay down.

  • How old was Filip when you started to train him? My bunnies are three months old now and from the rabbit treats I bought for them say that they're only for rabbits 4 months old+. Such a pain lol, looks like I'll be sticking with broccoli for a while XD <3 xxx

  • You can start training them right away. The earlier, the better. ;)

  • vad duktig din Filip är :-) och han är väldig söt ..... Önskar dig en trevlig kväll

  • Tack! :) Detsamma till dig!

  • how do you litter train your rabbit? mine is 34 weeks old, are older rabbits easier to train?

  • It's easier when they are younger. If your rabbit is peeing in one corner of the cage, just put the litter box right there and put the material that has got the pee on it into the litter box. After a while the rabbit will be used to pee in the litter box. As soon as it pees outside of the box, you take the wet material and put that into the litter box so that the rabbit never has wet litter other places than in the litter box. He will soon realize that that's where to pee (hopefully).

  • Wow! thats really cool! :D

  • stupid rabbit tricks are for kids!!! by the way hes so cute and fluffy!!

  • Stupid rabbit tricks are great stimulation for a rabbit, since he gets activated and gets to use his head. He's got a much happier and richer life than the rabbits of the ones who don't do stupid rabbit tricks with them.

  • @Tinwelende yeah i agree!!! and thanks for the comment!!!

  • DETERMINATION

  • its so cute! made another videos of your bunny

  • what treats are you giving him?

  • White sunflower seeds. His favorite. Though, they are very fatty, so you should never give them big amounts.

  • your bunny look exactly like my previous one, my one died of bacterial infection, your bunny rise my memory. your bunny is so cute, look after him well.

  • Fan avd duktig du och kaninen är :)

  • Åh, tack så mycket! :)

  • at what age are rabbits supposed to be neutered?

  • Males can be neutered from around four months of age.

  • how long did it take you to train filip to be this talented and obedient? :)

  • It took about three days to teach him each trick, doing it in sessions of five minutes at the time, two to three times a day.

  • Filip looks almost exactly like my Siamese lop, Kulua :)

  • Ive just got a netherland dwarf rabbit :) those tricks are amazing your bunnies are very talented! I want to teach my rabbit tricks . But i have no idea what to do! what is the easiest trick to teach your bunny? If anybody could tell me you would be great help!!! Thanks!! :)

  • The easiest trick is to teach him to stand up on his hind legs. You simply just give him a treat from higher and higher up and finally he has to stand up to get it. You then add the command you want to use, e.g. "Up", and after a while of saying "Up" right as he's reaching as far up as he can, you try to only say "Up" (and maybe just quickly sweep your hand over him, if he doesn't get it the first times). He should after a while stand up on his own when you say "Up". Good luck!

  • Woah you know ALOT about rabbits :) You're rabbit is gorgeous btw

Keep it up. :)

  • @Tinwelende Okej, tack! ^-^

  • :O thats AWESOME!

  • ciao scusa mi puoi spiegare come si fa? e quanto tempo ci hai messo?

  • You can look up my replies to the previous comments below for long explanations on how to do it.

  • Please, what reward do you give your rabbit during training? thx

  • White sunflower seeds (His favorite. Though they contain a lot of fat, so you should never give a lot of them).

  • I just got my rabbit and hes still a baby maybe 3 or 4 months and i just got him about a week ago and i really want to make a strong bond with him but he juss really hyper and likes to mover around when im not looking but when im paying attention to him he kinda juss stays still, and i dont kno what treats to feed him when i start training him anyy suuggesstionn

  • Differet rabbits like different things. Look in the pet store for special rabbit treats. Small, soft lentil-like treats with different flavors are common rabbit treats and they usually love them. My rabbit loves white sunflower seeds, though they contain a lot of fat, so you should only give scarce amounts of that. But just try your way through all the different things that he might like, and you'll notice what's his favorite treat. Just be really careful with the amounts of everything you give!

  • And remember that rabbits are vegans, so don't give it anything that might contain meat products. Everything that is new to them should be given in tiny amounts and be increased over time, so that their stomachs can get used to it. Plus, hay and branches to nibble on is way better for their teeth. It wears them down better than feeding them a lot of fruit, vegetables or other soft things, which can give them diarrhoea, anyways, if they are given too much. ;)

  • @MrDoMoGuy mine does the same

  • I have three questions 1)how long should your rabbit run around out of it cage for and do you take it out when its raining? 2)how do you teach your rabbit spin because when I take mine out and try to teach it runs away and 3) what is the best place to teach your rabbit tricks and to play with it so there are no distractions? thank you (:

  • No, I don't take him out when it's raining, since it's not good for rabbits to eat wet gress, plus they can easily get a cold. I'm always keeping the cage door open, so he runs around my apartment as he pleases. Though, some rabbits chew on wires and furniture, so you need to take stuff he can chew on away before you let him out unattended. I used clicker training to teach him to spin, though I cheated in this case, using so called "luring" during the clicker training when I taught him to spin..

  • You just take the treat and move it in a sircle, slowly, halfway around his head in one direction, so that he follows it with his head. Give the treat once he's turned his head only a little bit. Once he knows to follow it around, you can increase the circle until you move the treat in a full circle around his head. Just train him in really short sessions of maybe just 3-4 minutes at the time and do it in really, really small steps.

  • Once he can do a full circle with your guidance, you can add the commando, eg. "Spin" as you're doing it and then, when it seems like he understands, see if he does it when you just tell him "Spin" and point in the direction he's used to spin. If yours just run away, he probably doesn't expect anything fun to happen around you, so try to be very patient with him and feed him little treats when he comes up to you.

  • Just don't expect things to happen fast. This will take several weeks for him to learn if he isn't that tame. The best place to be when you train him, is in a place he's familiar with. And try to stick to the same place every single time you train him. Good luck! :)

  • Can you litter box train a 2 year old rabbit ??

  • Yes, you can. It just takes a little longer if he already has decided where to pee. Just take the litter that has the pee on it and put it in the litterbox and put the litterbox right back in the spot where he pees and hopefully he'll continue in there. If he pees somewhere else, just move that litter into the litterbox, as well.

  • Filip is beautiful! Rabbit's really do rule...

  • my clicker broke will he respond to me clicking my fingers?

  • He might, but snapping your fingers will be a new sound to him that he doesn't associate with the reward, so basically you'll have to start over with all that. Though, clicking your fingers doesn't always produce the same exact sound. Clicking a pen is usually better, since it's a static sound. ;)

  • Absolutely adorable.. :)

  • I have a question I have a boy rabbit named muffin(might change his name) and I am trying to teach him tricks but I dont know how and he lives in a hutch in my garden and isnt aloud to come inside and he is 12 weeks and 2 days old

  • If he's tame enough that he comes up to you, you can just start clicker training him.It works fine to do it outside, too.

  • @firsthuma How sad. U shouldn't have a rabbit then. They are a big responsibility. Rabbit's shouldn't be stuck outside in a hutch day and night, They are social. love people, get bored and are clean and wonderful companions! They should be spayed or neutered need an area inside where it is safe from predators and hot weather or too cold. They need to run and exercise every day. A sad life to live in a cage. Do not buy one, adopt or rescue, educate yourself please, and go to HouseRabbit Org

  • how much does 1 rabbit cost? because I have heard its expensive! and you have to do alot of things to take care of it! we might be getting two! or just one rabbit and a gunea pig how much do gunea pigs cost?

  • I'm from Sweden, so I can't really tell you how much they are, since I think they're a little cheaper in the U.S. Just go to a good pet store and ask about expenses. Make sure, though, that you have money saved for possible veterinary expenses too, though. Many people just buy the animals and the things they need for them and have no money left to use if they'd have to take the animal to the vet. So to have money saved somewhere for vet expenses is a must before buying an animal.

  • thanks! I thought I should paint it to make it look pretty but I will use some that are not painted

  • can you use a toilet roll painted in acrylic paints to put hay in? is it okay for rabbits to use one that has been painted for eating from?

  • No, the rabbit will most likely chew and even possibly eat the toilet roll as well, so it's better to use one that is not painted, just to be safe.

  • how long have you had filip and how many years do rabbits live up to (I hope a long time)

  • I've had him since he was 8 weeks old. They usually live 6-8 years, but 10 is not uncommon. The oldest one I've heard of was 14, but that's just that one rabbit.

  • also thanks for the tip on food and calling its name

  • how old is filip now? he is really cute and smart!

  • Thank you! :) He will turn 5 in June.

  • how do you use the rabbit clicker? I have a dog clicker can you use it for rabbit? there werent any rabbit clickers at the shop ):

  • It's the same thing. ;) If the click is too loud for the rabbit, you kan hold the clicker in your pocket or behind your back when you click, so the sound gets softer.

  • I am not sure as well about what foods to give it like can I feed it carrots and lettuce alot of the time and what foods can it not have?

  • Rabbits are vegans, pretty much. So you can give him vegetables and fruit (not avocado, since it's poisonous to most animals).Don't give him things that are obviously not healthy, like fatty foods or very sweet, strong or salty foods.

  • Crisp bread is fine, corn flakes, a few sunflower seeds (though, they are very fatty). Stuff like that, but you should try to keep all excess foods at a minimum. Hay is what a rabbit should have an unlimited amount of, cause their stomachs are made for digesting grass only. So only a couple of table spoons of other things per day is enough. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • I am getting a rabbit soon and I am not sure about training it. how do you teach it to respond to its name?

  • You just give him a little treat as soon as he comes up to you, so he knows that coming up to you is always something positive. Once he knows that, you can start calling his name AS HE IS running up to you. That way he will associate running up to you to get a treat with his name. After a few days or weeks, he should be coming up to you as you're calling his name ahead of time. ;)

  • Cute

  • what do you use as a treat?

  • White sunflower seeds (his favorite, though, they contain a lot of fat, so you should never give a lot of them).

  • Thats awesome, i've teached mine that when i snap my fingers, he runs to me, and then ofcourse i pet him and such, his name is Newton. :D

  • were do you get a cliker

  • In pet stores.

  • If I kiss you do I get a treat too? ;)

  • Of course you do - I clicker train all my men. :P

  • when did u start training him? cus my bunny is 3 months old.. is she still too young to train?

  • It takes a little longer for them to learn things the older they are, so three months old is not old at all and it's a great age to start training. The younger the better. ;)

  • nice job on that training, and a beutiful bunny...

im still trying to learn snowflake and bugs how NOT TO ram their own toilet everytime they get into the cage....:)

  • His color is called Sable Point not Siamese

  • In America, then, maybe. I live in Sweden and here it's called siamese.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is AMAZING!!!!! I do have a clicker and I will try this on my new bunny. You are a good trainer. Keep up the good work and keep me up to date.

  • Smart rabbit of yours!

  • haha thats cute :)

so tell me, do you train your bunny after his lunch or before? i wanna learn how to clicker train one of my bunnies so this would help me alot!

  • Thanks. :) He never gets lunch, only a few pellets for breakfast (and then unlimited amounts of hay, of course). I usually trained him any time during the day or at night when rabbits are usually more alert, so he wasn't very hungry or really full. ;)

  • very cool 8D i'm trying to clicker train one of my four rabbits currently =]

what is the song in the background? i really like it <3

  • Thanks! I don't remember which song it is, I'm sorry. :(

  • @Tinwelende It's okay, I'll figure it out somehow! XD Or might just end up downloading the audio from the video =P

  • Maybe you can google the lyrics. That usually works, though I don't know if this song is that famous or even have the lyrics written down on the Internet for you to find, but try it! ;) Good luck!

  • @Tinwelende Do you know what language the song is? Because I've been searching but I'm having difficulties!

  • Not all of it, but some parts are English, though. ...When they're kinda talking at one part. Try to listen to that and search for what ever words you can make out there. ;)

  • @Tinwelende Oohh, I'm gunna listen real hard now then =] Turning up volume all the way...

By the way Filip is soooo cute <3

  • @Tinwelende The Roundabout by Enigma

  • Ah, awesome. Thanks!

  • I know. It's quite common to do that here, too. People buys pets, but don't want to spend money keeping them healthy (like taking them to the vet and such), so they take their lifes or give them away instead. It's really sad. No, it's not hard, as long as you know how clicker training works and as long as you have treats that the rabbit is willing to work for. ;) I use sunflower seeds, which Filip loves.

  • I don't know. I just realized one day that he didn't hear anything. Might be because he's a pure breed and I know he's a little inbred as well, so I suspect it's because of that.

  • Your rabbit is so sweet looking, and you're obviously very good at training him..or should I say letting him train you? haha. Very nice job, this was an adorable video, and i'm happy to see someone else clicker training their rabbits ;3

  • Haha, thank you! He loves training me. :) He became deaf two years ago, though, so now we're doing everything only with hand signals, but he still loves it and gets really eager when he realizes we're about to practice. :) I just checked out your videos. You have some really cute bunnies. :)

  • Awwww cute!!!!How did you teach your rabbit to come to you when you call his name?

  • Just rewarded him with treats as soon as he did come to me (without me saying anything). Then I added the "call" as he was on his way over to me. After a while he associated "Filip, come" with getting treats as he came up to me, so he started doing it as I called him. ;)

  • How did you teach your rabbit to come to you when you call his name?

  • Oh we somtimes feed ours snakes like just rabbit food or bannahs or fruit

  • Where did you buy the clicker from?

  • Every single pet store probably has them. ;)

  • Great!! :)

  • what an adorable little bunny! fantastic Positive Trainings, nice :o))

  • He was two, I think, in this video. He's 4,5 now. :)

  • What are you feeding your rabbit for treats

  • White sunflower seeds. Though, they're very fatty, so you should give very scarce amounts.

  • This is really awesome! I clicker train dogs and cats, but have never had the chance to clicker train a rabbit. I have students at my school where I am a teacher that have rabbits and I showed them your video. I am hoping that they will start working with their rabbits.

  • Wow, this really made me smile. Thank you! :) I'm glad you see this video as inspration. Just tell the students to do it in shorter training sessions than with dogs and cats and in very small steps and they will be successful. If you see my rabbit agility video on here, I used klicker training to teach him that, too. Clicker trainng is great activation for a rabbit. :) Good luck to you and all your students and thanks again for your comment!

  • @Tinwelende You seem to be very experienced with rabbits so My rabbit has urine and poo on her paws and ive tryed everythingto get it off and i even gave her a bath (which i know i shouldnt of) but i was thinking would yyou know how to get it off?

  • It's quite hard to get the discoloring off, but getting the worst of the urine and poo by just washing it off is a good start. I usually just hold my rabbit's paws under running water, so that I don't have to give the whole rabbit a bath when he doesn't have to. If your rabbis is held in a clean environment it will most likely get the rest off by itself. This can be hard, though, with a rabbit that pees in the middle of the cage and then lies down in it. I took all the straw out of the cage

  • ...and kept only the straw/saw dust or whatever you use, in the litter box. This way the rabbit started to only use the litter box and not the whole cage as a toilet and he won't sit in his own urine as often. Apart from that, just try to clean the cage more often and a big part of the problem should be solved by itself. Good luck! :)

  • @Tinwelende Thanks so much.I will do what you did. Again Thank you :-)

  • No problem. ;) Update me on how it went!

  • @Tinwelende Thank you for that advice, I will share it with my students! Have a great day and happy clicking! :)

  • How do u teach ur rabbit to spin?

  • Lure it with a treat that you hold to the side of it's head. Give it the treat when it's turning it's head to get it or to look. Then hold up the treat further and further back and reward with the treat when it turns. Let your arm holding the treat come in from above the rabbit and continue rewarding until it moves it feet to reach the treat. Reward more and more until you have a full cirkle. Patience and many short training sessions will do the trick. ;) Good luck!

  • awsome!

  • Look at that nose twitch! :)

  • Tack för svaret Tinwelende! Vad för godis har du till Filip? =P tacksam för svar!

    //Ella och Matte

Kastrerade honom i våras. Lycka till med Beppe. :)

  • i have two bunnies male female soon to b spayed neuterd thay are outside rabbits my female will come to me after 20 mins+ buh my boy wnt cum to me like kayla dse thay are coss breeds bwt 22 weeks old

  • Vad gullig kanin;) Jag har en dvärgvädur som Heter Ella, och hon är ett år idag(!).

Hur lärde du honom alla trixen? Ella har också en tunnel och många hinder.

What cute rabbit;) I have a rabbit called Ella. And she is one year today(!).

How did you learn him all the tricks? Ella has got a tunnel.

    Thank you;)

  • Grattis, Ella. Men googla "Klickerträning"!
