@MrGirlyguy true, its pathetic to think that any person becuase of any reason, can not play a genre, or musical instrument, i can play the blues quite fine and im a nazi satanist!! :D jk but i dont believe in religion its garbage
@32Nunderdog32 I think it's just called Chicago blues, only know the riff ever since I'm a kid, played it for years and never wondered what the name is until now x)
Hi, What would be the best scales to play along with this backing track? Penta Major, blues major? (begginer question). Thanks to anyone willing to help.
@GERBIGSTAR well it says its in A major. A major pentatonic will work , but you will find its very hard to make that scale sound bluesy. it can be done but you gotta be good. i use a combination of A minor pentatonic, or in other words C major pentatonic, and i combine that with the A major notes(not the whole scale). The best way to do that is to play a barred A chord at the 5th fret(5 7 7 6 5 5), and lay the A minor pentatonic over that.
@airnsmke good point and i am not sure this track is very A major.. kinda sounds ridiculous playing blues in A to this.. Am is the correct scale for this song if you're playing blues licks
@armtheempire yea but you should work on both a major and a minor, you can really get that major to sound cool, the key is to use fewer notes in your licks(no pun intended).
People started calling Blues the Devil"s music a long time ago because its really old gospel music. Some people liked the music but did not like going to church so they played thier own version of church music outside of church. Of course church goers labled it Devil music and the musicians did not mind because to them that sounded kind of cool. Muddy Waters said to play the Blues you have to go to church or "chuch'(Southern accent) My great grandmother explained all this to me years ago.
The song "Hoochie Coochie Man" is not Clapton's original--it was first recorded and performed by Muddy Waters (and written by his bassist, Willie Dixon) in 1954.
@igessthsisgrwnup Chill out. Blues isn't "black music", it's not "white music" either. Blues is for everyone; White, black, Asian, middle eastern, African, South American, or Islander, it doesn't matter who you are, the blues is for you.
if you think that blues is the devil then you are very very stupid and ignorant... oh no waqtch out for here comes the devil blues.... cus all that feels good is the devil right..? dont laugh.. its the devil... dont drink.. its the devil.. dont play.. its the devil... dont follow your heart and do what feels right for you... its the devil... BUT YEAH LETS VOTE FOR MR BUSH RIGHT..? CUS HE IS A GOOOOD CHRISTIAN NO..? HALLELUJA WE ARE SAVED....
