  • Hi, What would be the best scales to play along with this backing track? Penta Major, blues major? (begginer question). Thanks to anyone willing to help.

  • @GERBIGSTAR well it says its in A major. A major pentatonic will work , but you will find its very hard to make that scale sound bluesy. it can be done but you gotta be good. i use a combination of A minor pentatonic, or in other words C major pentatonic, and i combine that with the A major notes(not the whole scale). The best way to do that is to play a barred A chord at the 5th fret(5 7 7 6 5 5), and lay the A minor pentatonic over that.

  • @airnsmke good point and i am not sure this track is very A major.. kinda sounds ridiculous playing blues in A to this.. Am is the correct scale for this song if you're playing blues licks

  • @armtheempire yea but you should work on both a major and a minor, you can really get that major to sound cool, the key is to use fewer notes in your licks(no pun intended).

  • John de conk- a -roo?

It's John, the Conqueror's root - Tom, don't post what you don't know, you look like an idiot.

DP69, you need to keep Granny's conversations private - you look like an idiot when you give detailed explanations on simple shit.

  • @jakeweismann you look like an idiot when you give your unwanted opinions. must have been the class bully

  • Would you please increase the volume of this excellent BT?

    Muito obrigado!

  • im bhuddist but still the blues is amazing

    =)

  • People started calling Blues the Devil"s music a long time ago because its really old gospel music. Some people liked the music but did not like going to church so they played thier own version of church music outside of church. Of course church goers labled it Devil music and the musicians did not mind because to them that sounded kind of cool. Muddy Waters said to play the Blues you have to go to church or "chuch'(Southern accent) My great grandmother explained all this to me years ago.

  • @DetroitPlayers69 Well said...

  • @DetroitPlayers69 my church sometimes play blues

  • @DetroitPlayers69 you know the real story of blues? please tell me a part of the true story because i'm a collection story of blues

  • @DetroitPlayers69 you know the real story of blues? please tell me a part of the true story because i'm a collection story of blues

  • @DetroitPlayers69 Nice story, but even jews can play the blues.

  • @JesuitFarmer ya but they dont count.

  • @jaybanroplayer Oh, right, I forgot you're in charge.

  • @DetroitPlayers69 and after that, people called metal the devils music.

  • @DetroitPlayers69 I'm in Hendrixs electric church... if thats what you mean... lol

  • @DetroitPlayers69 Which proves once again that the church is out for the church, and religion divides communities.

  • @TheBigMclargehuge That's a rather strong statement. What church are you talking about?

  • @DetroitPlayers69 wasnt it because they used dominant seventh chords which were considered in the middle ages..the devil's chords...etc

  • If God or the Devil make to this guys play in that way....good job!!!

    I love blues....

  • this sounds like eric clapton: hoocie coochie man?

    jack:)still exelemt

  • The song "Hoochie Coochie Man" is not Clapton's original--it was first recorded and performed by Muddy Waters (and written by his bassist, Willie Dixon) in 1954.

  • @jfred7374 i think the bass lines even older then that to

  • @jfred7374 if someone didnt know this, they dont got the blues

  • @jfred7374 Who the fuck is dumb enough not to know that??????

  • @jfred7374

    NO WAY

you mean a white man copied a song from a black man and made money off it

    OUTRAGEOUS!

  • @igessthsisgrwnup he didnt copy it he covered it .

  • @igessthsisgrwnup Chill out. Blues isn't "black music", it's not "white music" either. Blues is for everyone; White, black, Asian, middle eastern, African, South American, or Islander, it doesn't matter who you are, the blues is for you.

  • @Actar411

lol ive never heard that before

your ideas are amazing! you should right a book about it.......

btw im white, and never specified blues being black or white

just saying that lots of white ppl steal black musicians credit

  • capisccccc testun?
