  • The music in this video is obnoxious.

  • RATS RULE GO KEYDETS

  • Yeah I was a 3rd that year... thank god I didn't have the women in my class... LCWB and never forget it.

  • I wish we could have done breakout hill.

  • fuckin faguettes!!!!!

  • SSgt Black, please remember that the bunch of college idiots you described includes graduates like George Marshall and a lad named Chesty Puller. Many VMI traditions were molded by Lt. Gen. John Archer Lejeune. Those "idiots" have gone on to serve with Honor, and some have died, in numerous wars and conflicts. I ask that you show more respect for these young men and women. By the way, many of those "idiots" currently serve as officers in our military. Thank you for your service. Semper Fi

  • You're a joke!

  • SSgt, as a Marine I would expect you to show a little more respect for a bunch of kids who rather than spend 4 years drinking and partying live a lifestyle few people understand. Since some of these kids will become commissioned Marines I would expect you'd recognize the dedication it takes to make it through a school like VMI. What's more, after 4 years these guys come out the other end better prepared and with more understanding of what it takes to lead soldiers and marines.

  • and VMI is harder than the Marines

  • i'm calling bullshit on this comment.

  • SSgt Black, You are just mad that they are going to college and not enlisting to meet your quotas...by the way you wouldn't last 2 hours in a college level math class before crying and pissing yourself- Bitch!

  • If he is a drill instructor for the USMC then he is an experienced sgt. and any military service is more intense than any military school or college, and the the USMC is one of the most toughest military service in the US and is also one of the most elite forces of the world so he could probably last longer than you think!

  • Your use of the term "most toughest" precludes you from judging anyone's college level ability. Therefore your response is DENIED. Furthermore if you can sit in someones line of fire, that qualifies you as a marine

  • so what you're saying is a marine just jumps in a line of fire!?

  • No, that would be stupid...Marines actually yell Ooh Rah before jumping in the line of fire. The victorious ones receive the coveted "purple target" and discuss it as the greatest moment of their lives to old men in bars for the rest of their lives.

  • Dude, when you're going through the Rat Line nobody cares about what type of prior service you have. Conversely, nobody in the military cares where a servicemember went to school. The two, in the case of places like VMI, are mutually exclusive in that regard.

  • thirds eat shit

  • I just applied ill proly be going here woot woot cant wait to go through hell

  • REALLY! i just sent mine in for Early Decision im pretty punped as well

  • My son is a Rat and taking it hour by hour. He has expressed concern that he wanted to become a better man and is working through some conflicts. He has communicated that he has met the very best men he has ever known but is struggling with personal issues, ie, loss of girlfriend and familiy contact.. This has been painful while compromising, be prepared to commit your heart and soul to VMI. You will experience the opportunity of your lifetime but there is a huge sacrifice.

  • hahahahahahaa im pretty pumped for you to get here as well. but first things first, I gotta break out

  • its rough

  • USNA.

  • fuck the west pointers. i would take a vmi cadet any day!

  • AGREED!

  • do you go through unimaginably vigorous exercises daily?

  • LCWB Bitches! 2000

  • WHO?

  • VMI High School hero VMI zero High School Zero...VMI Hero! hahaha so true.

  • that ob. course is sick, way harder than army and air force o course.....i been there lol

  • Most of those clips are from Class of O!, so they are from August 97' I was there.

  • are these marines?

  • No, sir. Those are cadets of the Virginia Military Institute.

  • See, in 1990, the US Department of Justice filed a discrimination lawsuit against the Institute. After six years of court battles, VMI gave in after the Supreme Court struck down their long-standing tradition, and began to admit female cadets. They even considered going private to avoid the law that says a state-funded school cannot discriminate based on gender.

  • These clips are from 1997-8. The song is awesome though :-)

  • These are much older clips...probably '02-'03. Unfortunately breakout hill is gone now.

  • They need to bring the old ways of breaking out of the Ratline back. They were more exciting and tougher, if you ask me.

  • All Sheeds must leave

  • get your chin IN!

  • Heh heh. 'I said rack it in, boy! MOVE! We ain't got all day!'

  • sweet, who sings this song

  • the song is "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed.

  • this is pretty sick
