I doubt he likes to move that way anymore. But I bet he can. He says he works out everyday. He likes to write songs more. I love Slide. He dances so well though. It would be nice if he did a bit of danciing the way Timberlake does in his acts. El is brilliant on all levels. So great to have him back. His presence is such a joy espceially since we lost our dearest Michael. Wish Michael could have had such a recovery like Eldra. But so appreciative of El being alive and well.

This was when New Jack Swing was SOOO huge in the late 80s and early 90s. I know because I was there. I went to junior high when this was released, and I remember New Jack Swing being all over urban radio. This is REAL music!

I was in high school during that time, & if a brotha didn't have that DeBarge look then you couldn't get NO play from a sista! Yet, by the early-mid 90s dark was in & light was out! Yes he does. Now, El DeBarge is out of prison since October of 2009, and I pray that he makes a full recovery. The R&B game really need good music for not only the year 2010, but for the new decade.

JeremyForest: That's right, El was in prison. I'd forgotten that. Was it for dope? Domestic? El really had something going on then. He had charisma, singing ability, and, of course, looks. He could have been really large had he not fallen. I still think El can come back. He could fit right in. You're right, the R&B game is just straight bootleg nowadays. Most of them have no charisma or ability. Most of them have never learned their trade properly.

El DeBarge was in prison for violating his probation, and he had a six year warrant on his arrest. Yes, El is one of the most slept R&B singers, and he should get the recognition that he deserves. I hope El can make a comeback, and show these other R&B artists how it's suppose to be done.

Kurtis Blow , Rick James and El Debarge to name a couple. But, it was his show and the performers needed the press coverage, so I'm sure most just took it with stride.

True. I bought this tape 20 years ago and it got 4 stars in Black Beat Magzine as well as good reviews. Everybody was shocked when they saw him dancing and was happy to see him dancing. I pray that he recovers while he's in prison. I would love to see DeBarge reunite and show the kids how it's done.
