Another one of the early memories from Sesame Street that illuatrates how specialists 'put their heads together' to produce a finished item as a result of teamwork. I wonder if the guy who's the painter in this clip is the same as the one in the 'Man Paints a Screen Red' SS clip. At least in this clip, he's not just painting for the sake of painting!:)
this has to be from the early 70's!!! i so totally remember the girl pounding nails, because i wanted to do the same thing...i actually built a few of my own toys because this clip showed me girls can do anything. i forgot the table gets up and walks away... it's cute to me
Another long-lost Sesame segment surfaces. I'm having good luck today. :o)
I wanted to see this again to figure out why, at the age of 3 or 4, I was So. Freaked. Out. by that table when it just randomly got up and walked away on 4 grotesque knees. Just goes to show that things which seem dismissively silly to adults can actually give a small child nightmares.
"It's really a nice thing and I'm glad I was able to participate in doing it." I love the ad lib quality to the dialogue in this one. One of the guys sounds almost like Ted Knight, and one of the women sounds like Mary Jo Catlett.
Was the designing lady the same one who did that 11 o'clock song?

I like this sketch..but it's difficult to transcribe, since, of course, they're all talking at once!

Notice around the :55 mark the guy with the saw and the guy with the paint switch voices

You're right! I never noticed that before. What a mistake!

They probably figured it didn't matter because they were all talking simultaneously anyway.

I think Mary Jo Catlett did a lot of voice overs for Sesame Street so that voice probably is hers.

Well, Muppet Wiki says that one of them is voiced by Joan Gerber, though I'm not sure which one. And I'm pretty sure the painter is Bob Arbogast.

Ah, Joan Gerber! She's a delight. I loved her as Tanta Kringle in Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town.

I'd like to see them take on building a house next.
