I see a place where it looks like the railroad crosses Great Seneca Creek east of Boyds and north of the rec center, but it doesn't look like there's a bridge or viaduct there, it looks like solid ground for 20-30 yards on both sides of the rail bed. Is that just an illusion and that's the right spot, or is this viaduct somewhere else?
Excellent, thanks. That's what I thought based on Google Maps' satellite view, but there's a link online explaining how to tour the CSX line from Harpers Ferry to Washington, and it places the viaduct up near the lake just east of Boyds. The only stream crossing there looks like an underground culvert with the tracks in the middle of a 100 yard wide ground area. Maybe I can get a job interpreting aerial photos!
PS to boydz4trainz - I knew what to look for in the satellite photo because I watched your video of the CL crossing this viaduct at least five times. It looks pretty neat, thanks for posting it. Any suggestions for filming that location?
@boydz4trainz Yep, right where you and the satellite photo said it was, I went there today to scout and catch the eastbound Capitol Limited. I checked status and knew it was late, but then it was delayed even more - five trains went by in an hour! I filmed from up on top as your video is great for the viaduct itself. I was looking for longer shots.

GSC viaduct is east of Waring Station Rd. and north of the Isaac Walton League.

Where were you standing when you took this video? That state park is really close to where I live, and I'd love to catch a train video like that!
