Few people realize that in this olympics, Norbert Schemansky had 2 previous back surgeries....and yet, he competed and won the bronze medal...very inspirational I must say...yet, people outside the weightlifting world no nothing about this awesome feat of strength AFTER 2 back surgeries. Truely amazing!

well they had coloured photography back then so why is all this in black and white?

These were scans from the popular magazines of the times and rarely (if ever) were the photos inside in color due to printing costs etc...

Cool you learned to include music (not that I like it but its better than none) otherwise this was your best yet of the olympics.
? why is Miyake's photo autographed ? were you there ?

in my dreams , seriously I scanned from an old Lifting News (ironman published) and at first I thought I had a copy that had somehow been autographed by many folks, yet could not figure out how .... turns out the photographer (raplh Countryman?) had developed the pic in toyoko and had them signed before he submitted them to Peary Rader to publish.
I find better music it was just all I had to work with ...
