  • I just love you Chris! Fantastic talent and what a great man you are. I will always remember having my son when I insisted " just kissed my baby" In 1997!!!!!!!! Now if i could just kiss my baby Dylan!~ :)

  • Casey e james is following in his footsteps, no wonder he used Chris as a mentor, he has always been the bomb!!!

  • anyone else thinkin SRV here?

  • @MrClaptonstrat

He doesn't sound the same. You need to see him live.

  • Plays the Strat like he wants to kill it - LOVE THAT!!! Way underrated, Texas Sugar Strat Magik is still one of my top 10 albums of all time.

  • @kladmin I think that's actually his Hamiltone guitar he is playing in this video, not a strat.

  • @chucknun Lol yes it certainly is, I was using "strat" as a class of guitar vs an actual brand, i.e. "strat-style"

  • This is just great, so passionate. He seems like the kind of guy who isn't full of himself, you could have a beer with him and just laugh. That drummer is solid too, and the sound in this video is superb. Right through the board probably.

  • @beeaugen that's exactly how Chris is .. grounded , genuine , sincere

  • This song sold me on Chris also. It was back after Texas Sugar came out and I heard the album playing in a record store in Bloomington, IN. I've seen him many times since then and this has always been my favorite song, maybe even of all time. I love the section coming out of the solo leading back to the vocals. Such a great tune.

  • Can any of the many CDG fans tell me if Chris uses stock pickups or "hotter" replacement pickups in his guitar?

  • Pickups he uses are stock. His green Exotic is a close replica of his 63' Strat also all stock

  • Thanx starzfan45..I've seen the CDG quite a few times..I've talked to Chris a few times but I never asked about pickups....

  • stock in his 63' but the exotic are close to the 63' he played, but he retired the old strat... played the living shit out of that guitar!

  • This is the song that sold me on the Chris Duarte

Group....I think its my favorite album....seen him quite a few times in the last 12 years or so..first time was at a club called McGuffeys house of

    draft in Dayton Ohio....great show!!

  • Well Brett at least you know how lucky you are to live in the USA. Politics aside, the blues are still alive and very well in your part of the world.

    Cheers,

    Bill.

  • How is the blues scene in Australia?

  • The Bluezone and Ghost Road from the east coast are tops. For a small population there are a lot of real good bands. The Backsliders are a good, clean roots band. You can see Mal Eastick with Bluezone on youTube. Johnny G. and the Truck Clutchers are gonna be good. An original blues rock band, they're just starting rehearsal and will be on radio in a few months.

  • CHRIS DUARTE IS GOD!

  • Tulsa ten years ago! Thanks for the post.
