  • THERE'S MORE TO OIRELAND DAN DIS

  • For the money, not the win.

  • if he hadn't done that ad he would have had to downgrade his car to a mini metro and he just told his PA straight "i'm not driving a mini metro i'm not driving a mini metro i'm not driving a mini metro ,i'm not driving a mini metro , i'm not driving a mini metro ,i'm not driving a mini metro"

  • press 6 for alan partridge

  • DAN!

  • Is that Borat I hear around 0:15 - 0:18 or so? VERY NICE! MEET MY WIFE. SKEET SKEET!

  • Oh Steve! :P

  • Great Paul Daniels, there. Remember when Smith's had books, and wasn't shit?

  • I love how badly that suit jacket fits.

  • is this crash coogan lol

  • Der's more to WHSmiths dan dis...

  • @ReverendToad BEST COMMENT EVER

    Back of the net...

  • Well normally it would be a case of 'do a commercial, you're off the artistic role call forever'. However, given that this man went on to do the things he has, I'll ignore this blatant sucking of satan's cock.

  • @matt301273 But he also said if you're an actor trying to make a living he makes an exception. This was no name Coogan getting work, not big name Coogan flogging shit for money he didn't need. Like Jay Leno.

  • @retread01 Yes, true.

  • His facial expressions are a bit reminiscent of Frankie Howerd.

  • reminds me loads of lee evans here

  • I thought he was doing Steve Irwin, not David Attenborough.

  • i have two words to say:

    talented, cute!

  • HAHA, Alan Freeman.

  • I like this; primarily because I work at WH Smith myself and I'm a fan of Steve Coogan. I even do an Alan Partridge impression on my channel if anyone out there is interested :-D!

  • @aliensintheloft nope noone

  • kettles are saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad

  • He looks still at school there.

  • Steve Coogan? Don't you mean Martin Keown?

  • The Robin Cook impression looks like Simon Amstell's infamous Dame Edna on GMTV....

  • @Long23

    Robin Cook?

    Do you mean Robin Day?

  • sorry but he doesn't look like Morrissey...at all

  • omg... he looked so cute when he was young! o///o

  • He looks like a Yuppie!

  • Pause at 0.18, he looks like Morrissey.

  • I'm no fan of steve coogan though I thought his best moment was as Dr. Terrible(Dr.Terrible's House of Horrible) in the 90's though he was 20 years younger in the just played.

  • Only Steve Coogan can semi-salvage that sort of script, with anyone else it'd be a disaster!

  • VAGINAAA!!

  • haha. i dont remember this one

  • he was about to start a masive coke habit to make him less square, so he did need the money

  • He must of needed some money to do that shit advert

  • 89 i was born !!! damn he looks sooo good i would sooo date him grrrr

  • lol - :D

  • What a dork he was back then! Oh well, I guess it means there's still hope for a loser like me.

  • are you a very good actor?

  • mgo26, only if your a comic genius otherwise......

  • FINALLY THANK FUCK- thats where i know him from

  • Could somebody list the impressions that he's doing?

  • Sir David Attenborough, Frank Bruno, Sir Robin Day, Paul Daniels, Alan 'Fluff' Freeman and Tommy Cooper.

  • Cheers

  • These are very cliche' impressions. He might as well have done Jilly Saville, Mick Jagger and Terry Wogan

  • But he did this in 1989 - almost 20 years ago - right at the beginning of his career.

    It's called earning a living!

  • everybody has to start somewhere!!

  • I actually find this funny.

I am going to watch it two more times.

  • i already watched it five times.

I'm going to watch it motorbike more times.

  • I remember this. HAHAHA Nice post

  • Yeh I dont think impressions was his thing. - He has such a strong distinctive, personality that its just like watching Steve Coogan being Steve Coogan..

  • Coogan worked on Spitting Image, amongst other programmes. He's actually very good at impressions and it was his job for quite a few years. From what I remember, he said that it was hard to be taken seriously and progress if that's all you do, so he moved into other things.

Look up his Neil Kinnock impression (it's on youtube somewhere and it originates from "on the hour") -- it's outstanding.

  • Also chack for clips from 1990 to 1993 hen he worked on Spitting Image.

  • this is the same block who created Partridge - you wouldn't have thought it from looking at this piece of total bollox

  • nice comments.

  • this is very funny

  • big snogs for digging this one up

  • It's cool how no one out side of england knows who the fuck steve coogan is!! wait didn't he play uncle fester in the old addams family ??

  • I thought tht shop was called John Menzies for at least 6 or 7 years after i was born :S i was born in 86:S BAG O SHITE!

  • bought my snes in menzies

  • this guy reminds me of alan partridge

  • are you dumb?

  • yeah its his brother, steve

  • steve coogan is alan partidge

  • its is alan partridge lmao

  • leave the poor man alone. The guy in the video does bear a close resemblance to Alan Partridge.

  • That's because it is! It's STEEVE COOGAN, who plays alan partridge. He used to do the voices for Spitting Image around the time of this ad which is prob why they used him for his 'impressions'. Steve Coogans Bro is actually in a band called the Mock Turtles (well he was back in the day)

  • WTF are you talking about? Back In The day is an english term that's been around for fucking ages, 'copying gangsta' ffs, only someone who knows about gangstas would say something like.

As far as i'm concerned i've never once in my life connected 'back in the day' with either America or Gangstas. Even my grandad used to say it and he's as english as they came (he's now dead). Seriously dude get a clue.

  • nice comeback. your just a black chav

  • racist coward

  • I'm not black or a chav actually, you ignorant racist.

  • give me one good reason why that was a racist comment and i will consider that u mite not be a complete dumbshit

  • im still waiting for that reason...

  • are you an absolute moron

  • that makes you a complete pr*ck then

  • You know nothing you cretim

  • Cretim? I know how to spell at least.

You are a McFly fan...ahahahahahahahahahaha you must be a real tough guy aahahahaha

  • @Sharpfish Back In The Day is a longing term reminiscing the good old days!

  • go listen to some dizzee rascal mate

  • @innit27 Over here its something that old people tend to say when talking about the past, how on earth could it be gangsta?

  • @crazytosh1 yeah but people in britain have never heard old people in the US say it say it they have picked it up from hip hop culture

  • @innit27

    Wow...seriously ill-informed American is seriously ill-informed.

  • HAHA well done:)

  • rodders ones were much better

  • I don't remember it, I was only four but it is great! Anyone got the Nicholas Lyndhurst ones from the 90s?

  • Bloody hell, that is a gem.
