    Thanks for lying, description.

  • hmmmmm not bad i guess :)

  • @KoolJayJ

Now that's not true. Take it from a person who's studied culture. Subcultures spawn from people who are trying to define their identities. Subcultures spawn because people want to be different. Race plays a part, but it's not always white people. That's as simply as I can put it without going into any detail. I have some wonderful papers on the topic, if you'd like me to send them to you.

  • @NarakusPhoenix The sad thing is that it's just an excuse to distance yourself from others using the rationale that you're incompatible because the subcultures you identify yourselves under don't line up. We're all the same species no matter how hard people fight it and as soon as they stop using silly "subcultures" to isolate themselves they'll realize that we're all the same. We're all snowflakes--unique, yet still the same in inherent purpose and value.

  • @Knarf009 Again, take it from someone who's studied culture. Subcultures are nothing without a following, and whether you know it, you're following one right now. What music do you listen to? Why? What makes it better than other types of music? What makes some music good and some music bad? People are always looking for identity, so subcultures will never go away; they build on each other.

  • @NarakusPhoenix I love folk, metal, punk, some hip hop, goth and lots of other stuff but I don't identify under any one of those "subcultures." I've met cool people who like all different kinds of music so why would I identify myself contrary to them when we're similar enough to get along. Subcultures are shallowly defined and that's the problem; it attracts attention to shallow things.

  • @Knarf009 That in itself is a subculture. This debate has been fun and has inspired me to review some old papers and concepts.

  • @NarakusPhoenix Well that's if you consider every social phenomenon a "subculture". The very absence of belonging to a subculture would put you in a subculture by that logic. The issue with that is that the mindset of someone who doesn't join in with subcultures is very different than those who do. I focus on being the best person I can be and being valued for that, while the subculture mindset is that of "if I am X then I will be accepted and valued by those who are also X".

  • @Knarf009

    Noted.

  • @Knarf009 I am curious as to how you would go about rectifying this phenomenon, the actual, fleshed-out solution you would pose to what you've made clear is, in your eyes, a problem, or at the very least a hindrance to mankind's progression towards whatever you believe to be our ultimate destination.

  • @Willowville This is the worst run on sentence I've seen in a long time. Fix your terrible syntax. I can't make heads or tails of what you're trying to say in that mess of bad syntax and outlandish diction.

Are you trying to ask me how I'd fix the issue of sub-cultures? The best course would be to educate people and help them to understand that the burden of the human state is enough of a unifying factor to make sub-cultures obsolete.

And sorry for my tone, but gaudy speech gets on my nerves.

  • @Knarf009 A run-on sentence, while irksome in most regards, may prove a useful tool for correspondence which strikes the poster as possibly becoming aggressive. Intellect of one's opponent may be gauged simply by a quick examination of what they have previously written in a vid's comment, but sizing up this individuals skill of debate is an entirely different issue. The response you've offered up as your initial reaction paints you as one who prefers to undermine those you argue against, rather

  • @Knarf009 ...than one who is capable of sticking to their guns, providing valid counterpoints. Then again, I suppose it's possible that responding to my post would spark a debate. Anyway, I find myself diverting too much attention to your introduction when it should be awarded to questioning the weight of the point you offered to my inquiry. The 'burden of the human state'? How do you define this, exactly? I'm sorry, but this strikes me as remarkably vague in form.

  • @Willowville I have to explain to you what "the burden of the human state" is? The burden of the human state is the intrinsic limitations and burdens that humans bear. As humans we bear imperfection, we make mistakes, we get sick, we age, and eventually we all die.

I'm getting ahead of myself though. I have no interest in debating anything with you if you can't stop the gaudy diction. There is no reason to use such convoluted language; it detracts from your points and paints you pretentious.

  • @Knarf009 Again, it would appear my writing style holds more of a concern for you than the substance of the argument which it conveys, and in addition to continuing in this way of critique you seem to have added for yourself a rather convenient out. Now, as for your explanation regarding 'the burden of the human state', I am forced to admit that the definition which you have provided adds little more than what you provided in your initial response. It's quite broad, and still quite foggy...

  • @Knarf009 ...Nevertheless, let us take the parameters you have set and move forward, a move that may perhaps result in answering the question at hand: why do you find the existence of sub-cultures an inadequate means of addressing this situation?

  • @Willowville I don't care, I don't argue with ignorant and egotistical 15 year olds.

How good would I look if I was found arguing with a 15 year old who is trying WAY too hard to sound intelligent?

  • @Knarf009 I see now my methods, while still beneficial, perhaps assume too much. As previously mentioned, I have always considered a simple examination of a user's writing to be the best way of evaluating said user's intelligence. However, in my desire to engage a debate with one I believed capable, I seemed to have looked over the glaring fact that one's mental ability stands separate of their skill at acting a fool. Your dialogue with the vid's creator made was articulate, focused, if...

  • @Knarf009 ,admittedly, slightly rash. The person who has been responding to my questions is one who seems now unconcerned with this focus, interested in continuing in this vein only to the degree that their ego cannot allow the other party to deal the final word.

  • @Knarf009 How to defeat subcultures? Is such a thing even possible within the walls of our civilization? Would the dismantling the subcultures as they stand at present mean a step towards eliminating the concept's influence upon the real world once and for all, or would those who took this task upon themselves find their work met with the simple re-surfacing of their enemy in another form?

  • @KoolJayJ cause all the gang based subcultures are really useful

  • @otenis2008 now now when did i say i think gang culture is any better? Is it cos of my name?? Lmao...... Urban american gang culture (which is what im assuming your talking about) Is the most retarded thing ever invented.... but then again, black people are a bunch of ignorant lazy dumb shits

  • @KoolJayJ You missed the irony of my statment, but i'm glad you aknowledge the equalness in human silliness, even if its in the most racist way possible.

  • @otenis2008 most subcultures are stupid and useless except some are heaps more retarded then others...... some are decent which makes up pop culture society, and who we are... but most are not such as goth, emo, urban latino/black culture, etc etc

  • Comment removed

  • @KoolJayJ I hope you appreciate the irony of the sentiments you're expressing.

a.) Gang culture was not invented by black people. There is and has been Chinese gangs, Irish gangs, Italian gangs (the mafia), Latino gangs and so forth and so on before and after black gangs rose up.

b.) You accuse them of ignorance and laziness, yet you've just made a lazy and ignorant generalization about a group of people with many accomplishments to their credit.

    c.) Kill yourself.

  • @Knarf009 a) reread again, i specifically said URBAN AMERICAN gang culture, if you want to be all technical, then we can go waaayy back to the ancient greek days with rebel groups and militias acting as gangs etc etc..... or how about the Renaissance Era where thieves formed guilds and clubs to help each other out.

    b) Its youtube, no one takes comments on here seriously, except for you obviously, 95% of the population on here are retarded

c)try finding a better way to be a smartass next time

  • @KoolJayJ Are you fucking stupid? Is New York not an urban area in America?-- Then the Irish gangs in New York were fucking URBAN AMERICAN GANGS and the culture they created would be defined as Urban American Gang culture. I take anything seriously if it has my name attached to it, but clearly you don't have enough self worth to put thought into comments that lead back to you.

I wasn't being a smart ass; it was an earnest appeal.

  • @Knarf009 for fucks sake, those gangs DID NOT ORIGINATE IN THE US, they were came from there own countries origins and when they immigrated here, they bought back there traditions...... why the fuck do you think they dont act like dumb apes?? Yakuzas, Triads, Russian/Italian Mafia syndicates are all professional crime organizations wracking in hundreds of billions a year worldwide you idiot. Some gangs such as Triads originated back in the Dynasty era.... thats hundreds of years ago

  • @KoolJayJ The Mexican Mafia makes plenty I'm sure as does MS-13 and the bloods and crips ARE organized gangs. And Irish gangs can about because they were in poverty and needed to make money and protect their area. All gangs come about because the people involved need protection. Drug dealers make a lot of money actually, that's why they do it because it's a lot more money than they'd make through legitimate means. I'm not going to argue gangs without you though, you're a moron.

  • @Knarf009 your not going to argue yet you keep coming back and actually wrote all that just to.......... spite me?? *rolls eyes* if you do reply back then that really means that your yet another one of those douchebag no life Elitist trolls who search various youtube videos to find a potential argument

  • @KoolJayJ Cool story bro.

  • @Knarf009 ...... nice you just proved my point

  • @KoolJayJ Who needs to search when the Internet is populated with dime-a-dozen easy target users such as yourself?

  • @Knarf009 i was talking about urban black/latino gangs and youth gangs that was created in the US, cripz, bloods, surenos, latin kings, asian boyz, wah ching....... those stupid motherfuckers...... who arent organized, who are pure fucking idiots shooting as each other just cos of colors on there clothes, they never stop to think why they even killing there own people for. They dont make much, most of them live in poverty, and they are just plain fucking retarded

  • @otenis2008 you racist, you are a insult to humans, skin color changes nothing between people!!!1!

  • @KoolJayJ culture? nerdcore? I thought it was just a music genre, didn't know it was also a culture.

  • @KoolJayJ haters gonna hate

  • this is unspeakably adorable.

  • this song defines me

  • @redneckostan Me too.

  • psh plenty of guys talk to me...but then again i usally ignor them cuz i've seen how rude and horrid they can be hmm i guess all the nice guys are too scared to talk to me! lolz

  • I used to be into goth/punk/emo girls, but that ended when I went out with a bi-polar goth girl (anyone whose been with a bi-polar girl knows what I'm talking about). she basically screwed up my high school years lol

  • @zombiechildx i feel your pain man, i feel your pain

  • I'm into goth girls....but like MC Frontalot...I can't talk to goth girls, I just stare and stammer...:(

  • You don't need to. Although they're the best looking girls in the world they're usually not that great. Either arrogant, mind-sick (Borderline, Depression, etc), whores or a combination of those 3 =)

    I'm not insulting - It's a fact I made with the Goth-Girls I have known.

  • lol..JTHM reference..:3

  • what effects were used on the segments with danny like at 2:42

  • I made this a very long time ago, but believe I used grayscale with one of the film aging effects. And then I used the zooming in and out of corners effects. Try out the different combinations; experimentation is key! (WMM)

  • I also may have added film grain.

  • whats the episode at 2:02?

  • Really?!?!?!?

  • Nice video with a nice song.

And reading the comments was pretty funny too.

  • I'm half goth, half nerd, and half ghost.

Wait.. you didn't hear that last part. =D

  • Ah, you're three halves? Nice math skills you got there.

  • Yup. My math skills beat all of your math skills! 2 x 3 is 7!

  • *ahem* A few things:

    1) you spelt NICKELODEON wrong.

    2) the thumbnail should have tipped you off that danny phantom was involved in this video

    3) your comment didn't hold any relevance; if you like rambling, then please write a blog elsewhere

    4) Demi LOVATO works for Disney, not Viacom

    5) no thanks to the penguins; my Nick is 90's Nick; Go Rocko!

Thank you. You are a credit to Youtube. =]

  • thanks! that's actually our next debate in my mass media class: does technology help us or dumb us down? we had a pretty lengthy discussion about digital literacy the other day.
