Have you checked the config bits?
things such as: osc and wdt setting, are critical to all programs.
You should be able to check your the config bits on hex file with MPLAB.

i do have a pickit 2 as well .i was able to program the chip sucessfully ,but i could not make the pic run any help would be appreciated
