I hope sooner comes before later. This story was brilliant!
I attended a Baptist school, too...for three years, the whole of junior high. I got a decent education in literature, math, history but not a lick of science. I feel I am still playing catch up.
@TheMudbrooker Sure did... packets of! I use to blow right through those things. You really were teaching yourself. There was no lessons from the teacher. We had "desks" that cubicles attached to the wall. During off school hours, the desk tops attached to the walls so the church used the space for gatherings. If we needed attention from the teacher, we put a miniature American flag in a little hole at the top of the desk; the Christian flag if the aide could handle it.
Stupid Youtube. This didn't show up when you posted it.
Anyway...
You need to be a narrator. This was highly entertaining.
One time the neighbor boy and I tried to dig to China. We got down about the depth of a grave when we had an avalanche. So I got to experience being buried alive. Funny thing, mother's tend to freak out severely when they see their children clawing their way out of an earthen grave.
@TheMudbrooker Well, both mom's wouldn't have noticed anything had it not been for Jeffrey screaming and crying when we surfaced. He's was always such a little puss. XD
Why do I find this far more entertaining than TV? It has formulaic movie and sitcom plots focus grouped into a highly refined science of entertainment. So, refined that half way through the move I already know that the ending will ... oh ... never mind. Good video.
The whole time I'm watching this, I'm thinking, "What's the point of this?" And as the video kept going, I kept thinking it more and more. Then, at the very last sentence, I laughed my ass off. Great job. I get it.
This is out of what real heroes are made. We had in grandmothers village also such a castle, it was a bombed house witch had still no be rebuild and sure it was forbidden for us kids. The real reason was that all around there where still a lot of dud bombs, ammunition and so on. In my bulge this was so until the late eighties.
This reminds me of the book "Life on the Missippi" where young Mark Twain and his friends would talk to an old man, who would always start telling them about this amazing ram he owned-- and he never finished the story-- he would always go off on a tangent.
Aish!! Who knew back then what those antique bottles would be worth on E-bay in the future!! I too remember the ash bins where trash was burned. I lived in Chicago, and it was still legal to burn trash in the alley behind the house. We spent all summer outside....I think I came inside one time during the whole summer of 1958....haha
simply wow! brother you have such a knack of bringing the most ineventual tales to proper life that this lil' trip down memory lane was just EPIC. i'll bet i'm not the only one that while listening to your accounts was/will be flooded with images & memories we may have long forgetten we ever had. Reminds me of when I was about 5 or 6, and I punched my older brother in the nose.
His face was right on the other side of the window of the walk-in garage door that he had just locked.
