One child policy should be implemented in the whole world. This would help us reduce the use of natural resources to benefit the next generation. What use is it that we have lots of children but no resources to feed them

i hope u can understand, with a population of already 1.3bilion and more, the difficulty to keep this country out of poverty and in harmony is beyong ur imagination. China is doing a very good job now keeping the county deveolping firmly and peoples lives improving in gerenal, despite some centain issues. we should learn 2 look at the things at the bright side.
by the way, child policy is a great idea. one persons sacrifies can lead to benifit of the whole society!

My grandma in china who grew up as buddhist. She never seen anything like it. China used to have 4 to 6 billion population during WW2. Now, it's 1 billion shrinkage very close to india. I guess China want to make smaller population with wealthly state.
One child policy is pure Genius for Mao. Yes, He can't be defeated. He can foresee 1.4 million population by 2010-2024.

Yes, loss of people during wars, is probably a common motivation to breed. But I say, so more people can experience life, is a great reason to breed, REGARDLESS, all the time.

Pronatalist, you seem extremely naive in thinking that people can just reproduce ad infinitum with absolutely no consequences. "Allowing more people to experience life" is not a valid reason to starve this planet of resources even more. We don't have the resources to even feed everyone in the world today, and you are encouraging people to exacerbate the problem!!

Liberals have a few good ideas, problem is, they are half-baked, don't make any sense. Growing population is a great reason to welcome number of sexually active people to expand, but within responsible stable families.
Globalization is a great idea, but not robbing of freedom under global tyranny or Anti-Christ, but the more natural sort of letting the nations naturally populate into one another/merge, especially similar nations not fearing people like them. Urge nations overgrow

Where did I ever say, there's absolutely no consequences to people reproducing "ad infinitum?" Did you miss the part where I suggested the world may indeed end up naturally growing DENSER with people? I say societies "bursting at the seams" with people, because they failed to adequately plan ahead for their very predictable natural increase, counts as "consequences."
What I say, is that the "growing pains" are minor, compared to the alternatives of forced abortions, tyranny, etc.

the one child policy does not mean you cannot have more than one child it means you have to pay the permit to have more , how do i know this i have a chinese wife we have a child born in china my wife has 1 brother & a sister thats 3 (for the drop outs) it has never failed to amaze me the amount of people that post videos of china really don t have a clue about the place i ask you are you going to get in a plane to fly with- a paper only studied pilot or a pilot who really has flown the plane

perhaps the maker of this video should consider that as a usa citizen i do not have national health care, also in china after the 3rd grade parents pay for all schooling period !so a second child in china would be cheap than having 2 in the usa also in china its illegal for any doctor to tell the parents of any unborn child what sex it is chinese gov trying to protect girl babys chinese gov does not kill babys the parents make that choice sort of hard to do if you do not know what sex it is

So what? People are not plants with firm roots. People can choose to spread out, or could even stack their housing units on top of one another, if needed. Why are Canadians then deemed "better" than Chinese?
Under commie Chairman Mao, large families were encouraged as large and growing population would supposedly make China strong. It would allow more people to experience life. People can still reproduce at high density.

Pollution? Cleaner technologies are being found/improved all the time.
Lack of resources? Caused by government incompetence, excessive "laws," rules, and runaway taxation. Also corporate greed sometimes.
High property prices? Build more property. Why "manufacture scarcity" with economy policy designed to hurt the working poor?
Some places are just dense.

china violating human rights is inhuman and also against the geneva conventation china have never had a good human rights record and this is what the government does to its county whisle is said in the human rights that a state must look after its people.
there are other ways of lowering population without killing such as more jobs could be made so more children would not need to be born to work or they could immigrate to low populated countries e.g Canada or islands.

They could emigrate if those countries don't have restrictive immigration policies that only accept a few skilled workers per year from china. The Geneva Convention is about treatment of troops, prisoners, and civilians in times of war and lacks substantial relevance to your discussion. China's supposedly bad human rights record is because the definition, as held by Western Countries, changes dynamically, and China's culture holds an inherently different view of what "rights" and "liberties" are

Civilized people really should have more choice as to what country they choose to live in, and not be "trapped" in a country, just because they happened to be born there, unless that's what they want.
Migration is a rather obvious population ACCOMODATION tool. But there are national borders, and presumably, isn't it easier to discourage "excessive" migration by improving respect for human rights everywhere? Sure emigrate, but if not, have traditionally large families IN CHINA.

No, I was replying to someone else who suggested emigration as a solution. I'm saying that emigration is not viable because other nations have restrictive immigration policies. I'm saying that emigration alone is NOT a viable solution to population.

Emigration is one of many, many tools to better ACCOMODATE naturally growing human populations.
I don't at all mind that some countries like China might "overflow" their borders, as population growth accomodation is first a family responsibility, then community, then national, then GLOBAL. Just so long as they "overspill" their borders peacefully, and immigrants seek to be qualified and be welcome assets to their new nations.
But why emigrate when people are welcome at home?

Well I know people emigrate in search of better jobs. That's also a reason why people depopulate the countryside to move to huge "overflowing" cities of people. I would like to see economies be more fair, not be so exclusive of so many people, and jobs be more portable, so that people may work wherever people already happen to live.
It would be better for big cities to grow bigger, not so much from people migrating, but from the natural increase of so many people within them.

Open immigration is a liberal pipe dream. If we have restrictions on immigration America would turn into Mexico and Europe would turn into Africa and the Middle East over night, overwhelming all of their social services and causing mass chaos. When a population cannot sustain itself on the resources within its country it is a good sign to stop expanding, not to overgrow into other countries.

I am not naive, I am a freedom-loving patriot, and have altruistic motives that people be welcome to enjoy having "all the children God gives," and that more people experience life, and I do believe humans can in fact, use intelligence and faith to in effect "scoot over" and allow the human race to expand and grow vaster and denser throughout a planet we can't make any bigger.
All countries should be urged to populate denser, especially via their own natural increase - their kids

When they say There's so many places to put more people, that implies they really do want to populate DENSER/VASTER. I agree that's a great and viable option.
Self-reliance is great, but global trade goes back 1000s years.

I agree partly with open immigration, as immigration/emmigration is among the tools for proper global pop accomodation, but then so is simply populating nations denser and denser, where political realities hinder the natural migration of people.
Can't stop people from having sex? I agree, but keep it within stable families, ACCEPT BABIES.

I wish that children were not aborted and people had morality but they obviosly don't. Morality comes when God enters one's life. When God is refused all kinds of terrible evils exists so horrible that words cannot express. A country is as moral as its laws. China is a very immoral country.

okay, to make some points, the chinese government don't enforce the killing of a second born child, it's mostly the parents decision.
The government will not kill a child that has already been born, but it will deduct money.
Abortions are also not forced, but you will lose face if you don't.
If you knew anything about china's history then you'd understand why things like this are allowed to happen there.
