The Two Guys in Harrison store didn't close in 1959. It was there and open into 70's. They never closed on Sundays. They roped off the departments that couldn't sell products on Sundays because of the Blue Laws.
@heine71 It's funny how the memory plays tricks on us. I thought it was 1980. My family shopped at Two Guys Jersey City throughout the 70s and it was a big part of my childhood. I hated the place then. It was tacky and kind of tawdry looking. But now it's nostalgia and a fuzzy memory. I remember we spent $110 for groceries for a family of 5 for 2 weeks! I still love the 70s.
That was a good-looking storefront. Which location was that?

@jackbadge The Harrison Two Guys lasted into 1980-1981, I guess.

I was in the original Two Guys in Harrison on a Sunday when it closed in 1959.The Sunday ban on shopping happened later in the year.

Are you sure this is 1981? I remember Two Guys closing in 1980.

@pnyc1969 Yes, this is 1981. Two Guys closed the last of the store chain in the mid 1980's, I think.
