  • that must have been very painful for the player who jumped into shaq at 0:42!!

  • The early 2000's were some of the best for basketball!

  • That should be number !1!

  • @Piter800 yes if jordan bird and the other nba legends did not exist

  • i watched from #1 to # 60

  • classic shaq face

  • Too bad Pippen wasn't as good in Portland as in Chicago or else we would've won at least 1 championship

  • Huge Bulls fan here, and I know this should be a top 10 moment...

  • wow.. the crowd gon nuts after that alley-oop.. :)))

  • i like the other commentary people kobe TO SHAQ

  • easily a top 5 moment, this was the dawn of a dynasty, the lakers and phil jackson went on to win 5 titles between this date in 2000 and 2010

  • if this was a Pippen-Jordan alleyoop it would be top 10 easily

  • What made the alley-oop is Kobe breakin' Pippen's ankles in the process

  • @ 08 is that Brian Shaw Lakers assnt. Coach

  • @m1k3y0011

yea he used to play back in the days

  • This reminds me how my Dallas Mavericks accomplished the same feat with five minutes left against Okla recently. ^_^

    I love basketball.

  • should be higher

  • cfbsolon are you for fucking real ?!? Home team got some calls ?!? I would've understood if it was like 3 times more than what the Kings got but WTF ?!? LA got 20 fucking points off of those free throws. Sac got their big men off the game. And in those free throws Shaq got his foot on the line. Sacramento Kings back then was the most entertaining team. And they really deserved a championship.

  • @culedz29 Did you read my post? The point was that the Queens got just as much of the benefit from the calls in Game 5 as the Lakers did in Game 6. And I'm glad you brought up Shaq, because Shaq fouled out of Game 5 after playing only 32 minutes, and that he took 18 shots but somehow only had 1 FTA in that game. And if you want to talk about just brazenly missed calls, take a look at Webber's moving screen on Bibby's Game 5 winner. Teams that make 16-30 FTA in a Game 7 at home deserve nothing.

  • i love how everyone remembers the one thing shaq did this game but forget how kobe took this game/series over.

  • Seriously, anyone disparaging the Lakers 2002 title is pretty pathetic. Queen fans love to harp on Game 6 - yeah, what a stunner, an NBA team got some calls at home. But why don't you look at Games 5 AND 6? Queen fouls - 51; Laker fouls - 51. Queen FTA - 58; Laker FTA - 63. Take out the 3 deliberate Queen fouls and 6 FTA at the end of Game 6, and the Lakers were called for MORE fouls and had LESS FTA in Games 5 and 6. Just deal with the fact the Queens didn't have the juice and move on.

  • Nothing from the Lakers of 2000-2002 should even be in the top 30s. I don't think they deserve it. 'specially in 2002.

  • he crossed the shit out of scottie pippen

  • The reason why this shit was not in the top 20 is because the Blazers gave it away. It was a gift. They missed open shots.

  • @pkbosslac They missed open shots AND the Lakers shot twice as many FT's, the refs certainly played a part. Not a Blazers fan, but remember watching that game and was dumbfounded at all the horrible calls.

  • @davd1986 Trust me, I know what you mean. Im not sure the Lakers ever proved they were the best team on any of those championships. Well, they did the second title, only losing once to the Sixers the whole playoffs. The others were very controversial. The series with the Kings was a joke. Mafia was involved and Lakers should have never won. People who never saw those series have no idea how lucky the Lakers were during that three-peat. It was the incredible.

  • @HeadlessEye they probably reserved spots 1-15 for the Bulls :P

  • David Stern?

  • Shaq running was the best

  • This should atleast be in the top 20s just saying, 15 points in a row?!?! Then an awesome alley-oop from Kobe to Shag, please! This should be in the top 20

  • this was the winning play for the fuckin 4th quarter comeback from down 15 points in game 7 to go to the first Finals of the Kobe/Shaq 3peat and its fuckin 48???? r u shitting me?

  • This should be top 15. The elation I felt when the ally-oop occurred was unparalleled.

  • 5 dislikes - Sabonis, Sheed, Scottie, Smith and Stoudemire

  • shaq when he could move=amazing

  • people who say this should be higher clearly didn't watch the nba games in the past.

  • KOBE - TO SHAQ!

  • *Pippen gets crossed hard* + "Bryant to Shaq" + *dunk* =2000 western conference champions.

  • I'm a Laker fan, blah blah blah, this should be #1, blah blah blah, the top 60 should be all Laker moments, wah wah wah. Shut the fuck up please.

  • This moment at #48 is as off-target as Portland's shooting in the 4th quarter.

  • could have been #2 that last shaq alley oop

  • top 20

  • Kobe broke Pippens ankles, legs,& heart!!!

  • :35 says it All!

  • so terrible how this happend to my blazers...still hurts

  • Wow...This is ONLY #48??

  • @shyjayb

This video is probably ranked appropriately because yes, it was a great comeback by the Lakers as Shaw got hot and drilled a buncha 3s. But the bigger story was Portland going ice cold. You've gotta give LA credit for making the plays to get back in the game, but if Portland had just managed even a mediocre offense to close the game, they coulda won. Instead, Steve Smith who had been red hot like it was the old NBA Jam video game froze up, and so did the whole Blazers squad.

    /wrist

  • I wish there weren't more Lakers moments every 2-3 ranks. Talk about a fuckin borefest.

  • were talkin about the greatest playoff meltdown in the last 10-15 years here. portland was up 15 in the 4th and a laker win capped off by a oop from kobe to shaq wtf this should be top 30. this was the beginning of a 3-peat i rank it higher than dfish at SA or robert against the kings.

  • The Lakers of the past dozen years have a history of a benefit of a lot of calls when down late in games, despite the fact that no team in the NBA would commit as many fouls that are called when they are up by 15-20.

When a team gets 80-90% of the calls late in a game and it leads to a win, I don't consider that to be a "great NBA moment". I consider that to be a blemish on the history of the NBA.

The Lakers also got beneficial treatment against the Kings, and the Spurs (multiple times)

  • @SinJackal how many times did the lakers go to the line compared to the blazers in the 4th quarter of this game? i remember sitting there and thinking...portland cannot be letting this slip away and they did. portland shot themselves in the foot thanks to poor closing and rasheed wallace having a mouth too big for his brain.

  • Learn to read. I was only talking about free throws during the Kings and Spurs' series, not this Blazers game.

And yes, the Lakers did get the benefit of a lot of calls. Not every call results in a free throw attempt. Non calls when Lakers clearly commit fouls are one of the biggest things they get away with late in games. That falls into the category of "benefit of calls". But I guess you're too busy playing "nba live" to know much about live nba lingo :(~

  • "from the brink of elimination, to the brink of NBA finals"

  • It wasn't really how good the Lakers were, it was how bad the Blazers were the last 10 minutes. They were some 2 for 15, Sheed going 0 for 6. They just went cold. I think the Blazers deserved to win. Lakers just were lucky they missed some easy shots. Man, imagine, if the Blazers would've advanced, maybe Nets then would've won the title, JKidd would've got a ring, probably the Lakers would've none. Man so little things can change history.

  • @woutakasinistra

Stupid comment. It was Pacers who advanced to the Finals from East.

  • No I mean if the Nets would've won their series, I knew the Nets lost to the Pacers that year..

  • @woutakasinistra

Again, what the hell are you talking about? That was 2000 NBA Playoff. Jason Kidd did not even play for Nets and Nets didn't make playoff that year.

  • considering the alley-oop started a dynasty, i think this should be much higher.

  • ah man...chick hearn.

  • Comment removed

  • not at all.

  • Lol that was a sick crossover, pippen was out of his league.

  • He was a has been by then. Pippen in the 90s could've shut Kobe down. Pippen is one of the best defenders EVER. Especially on the perimeter, he and MJ locked it down.

  • agreed. the only person today that you can compare is ron artest... and he still isnt as good

  • Yes he was a great defender, but sorry noone can shut kobe down.

  • Pippen was still a top 5 defender in 2000. His offense was the only thing that had slipped at this point of his career

  • @thesportsdude09

First, I would go a step further and say that Scottie Pippen is THE best perimeter defender the NBA has ever seen, even topping guys like Dumars, Bobby Jones, Bowen or Michael Cooper.

Second, Scottie was far from a has-been at this time. No great offensive player can be stopped 1v1. For most of the series, Rasheed & Scottie played the role of dual-roamers. The Blazers' plan was to limit Kobe to shooting long jumpers. They got mixed results & this vid shows why. Game 3, too.

  • Look at the Crowd baby!!! the best fans in the World!!

  • best moments of shaq in la lakers team i believe.

  • This is a top 20 moment, easily. This list is bullshit.

  • @HeadlessEye the top 20 moments are reserved for michael jordan ;)

  • @HeadlessEye take dr.j's scoop out its OVERATED and put this in. This was far better than dr.J's scoop

  • any1 remeber the shot made in MSG .. it was a and1 shot at it was a huge shot in a playoff game in the 90s ..

  • search Larry Johnson 4 point play

  • Yeah that was a bad travel.

  • no.... thats lebron and his so called crab dribble

  • he dribbled it at :34 before jumping, smartass. But I guess you see what you want to see. They beat Indiana after this right? hmm

  • Great Game!!!!! Awesome hearing Chick Hern again..

  • What is the name of this song?

  • that dunk brought the place down

  • because we won?

  • too bad for pippen.. he wouldve 7 rings

  • this was supposed to be pippen's defining game of FINALLY being able to lead a team to the nba finals w/o mj.

but in typical pippen fashion...w/o mj backing him...he chokes.

at least he didnt get a migraine this time

  • You are a fucking idiot lol saying pippen sucks haha fucking bitch!!He got to west conference finals u fucking idiot and with a shit team haha..Nub at sports be you!

  • did i say that he sucks? learn how to read IDIOT.

why do u think portland traded for him? to BE A LEADER!!! how many points were they up in the 4th quarter of game 7? 15?

portland was a shit team in 00'? are u crazy they stacked. sabonis, sheed, steve smith, d. stoudamire, jermaine o'neal, brian grant, schrempf, greg anthony...that team was deep.

pippen was brought in as the final piece. as great a player he was, dont u think he wouldve been even higher if he won a championship w/o mj?

  • but of course u only remember the pippen who played sidekick to micheal.

u dont remember the migraine he got during the 89' ECF against detroit? or his refusal to go into the playoff game when phil drew the last shot up for kukoc instead of him? 0.7..remember that?

of course not. a victory over the lakers wouldve cemented his legacy even greater. but it didnt happen.

before u use profanity just b/c u dont agree w/ someones opinion...learn a lil bit about the game first...

  • still gives me chills

  • wow i saw that live .. unbelievable. gives me chills

  • I remember going to the Rose Garden to watch it "live" on the big screen. Everyone was in a state of shock after that third quarter.

  • miss chick hearn=).

  • we all do. hasn't been the same since.

  • i miss chick Hern.

  • did u c kobe cross pippen? nice.

  • i like shaq's expression at : 42.

  • NO WAY. GAME 7, WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS? TOP 20's for sure. or top 15! this is great they came back and beat the blazers in game 7!

  • how is this only #48???

it should be at least in the high 20's

  • free throws nd illegal defence

  • God damm I was so pissed they won.But it was a bad ass moment

  • WOW. at :32 Kobe crosses Pippen so bad...and that was a pretty sweet alley oops.

  • the lakers got so many breaks throughout those years..

    blazers, kings, etc

  • IF the Lakers lost dis game it would made there season A joke..im so happy they won

  • the game is not nearly as thrilling as it used to be. teams hangin on by the skin of their teeth. u gotta love these historic moments. i hope to witness more in the future

  • This year's finals at game 4, the Celtics put on a classic comeback from the biggest halftime defecit in finals history against the Lakers.
