i enjoyed reading the comments because this too was my parents song and can still see them dancing even though my father has passed away. thanks for the memories.
The only times I ever saw my Grandmother and Grandfather dance together was when this was played by the bands that they had play every friday night at the camp ground that they owned in Hubbard Ohio. "Pop" is gone now; but gramdma is still here. I can see them together still even after more than 23 years.

In 1976 my family traveled out West and my dad played this non-stop on his 8 track tape player. I was 12 and annoyed to no end but when I hear this song, it reminds me of "the Good Times" I had as a kid on my yearly vacations with the family.
Thank you for posting this. Ray Price is one of the very best. What a powerful voice. Other performers are virtually swallowing the microphone because they have such weak voices, but Ray stands 2-3 feet from the mike and fills the room with his wonderful voice.
This song brings tears to my eyes, back in the 1970s my mother in law always played this song for Christmas and I can see the sadness in her eyes, She's gone now but I can still hear her singing this song, For the Good Times.
My favorite love song
