Reflecting on this I must say that I was expecting something different... but the overall feeling of suspense and (terror isn't the word... I'll say weirdness) that I got from watching this was similar to the feelings stirred by reading the novel. I'll check out the movie if it's available.
@hyperkriegs It absolutely IS available through Hellbender Media. Guerrilla Productions has become Hellbender Media. You can also order it via Amazon, but if you order it from the HB site, you can request an autographed copy, plus it's a little cheaper. 8)
I believe, that this book would make an amazingly good Hollywood film trilogy that strays only little from the source material if given enough attention and funding, but that will likely never happen.
We used a thunder sound effect that we had as part of a library.
About a quarter of the sounds in the movie are from a sound effects library, but three quarters of the sound effects we made up ourselves. It was fun!
"We can only ponder at the difficulty involved in creating this film."
Nontrivial. None of us had made a movie longer than, oh, five minutes. None of us had done any animation. It was all learning curve. Everybody who worked on it busted hump, and I'm very, very happy with the result.

JT dude's work was always unique. That's it's strongest appeal. =)

Well, funding is always tricky. I'd be game to revisit this project as a life-action project if we had the funding.

Nice video of Lovecraft's most way out story.

We do our best. The whole movie is most surreal.
We have more animated Lovecraft coming along, but not this style.

I think this is my favorite Lovecraft story. I'd definitely like to get my paws on the movie.

It's definitely still available! See the URL in the description (I can't post URLs as a part of comments).
We just got the new shipment of DVDs, which includes many newly re-animated scenes, plus extensive DVD-ROM content!

Re-animated?
Have these scenes become zombified?

Hooray for disturbing! If you think the teaser's disturbing, try watching the whole movie! ;)

I own this little gem and I must say that the creators did a capital job. We can only ponder at the difficulty involved in creating this film.
As far as disturbing, yes it is. Very disturbing and unusual. That is why I love this film.

Wow, thanks for the kind words!
