Great song but lame video. Four or five years later and the MTV generation ended this sort of low-budget handy-cam stuff. Swanee you are a legend mate, but your management sucked because you should be up on that same pedestal as your little brother, instead of being rememberd as "Jimmy Barnes' brother"
Hey John, I'm stoked to find your videos here. You were the first rock act I ever saw, supporting the Angels at the Horden In 1982, I was 15. You were awesome. Your version of If I Were a Carpenter has always been one of my favourite songs. Thanks again, keep up the good work. Cheers!!
Working up a bit of a puff there John!? Lucky you got your addidas on. You rock mate. I snuck into a pub in Bris when I was 15 to see you....in like...1992. You kicked the drummer off teh stage in jest, and you blew the crowd away!!
um, did Stock, Aitken and Waterman ever pay Swanee royalties? because this is almost identical to Happenin' all over again which was released about ten year later by Lonnie Gordon. Surely I'm not the first person to notice this.
they're not the Hilton car park ramps but the Sheraton Wentworth ramps in Castlereagh St and still there today. The majority of this clip was filmed in Park St coming from Elizabeth St towards the Pitt St Mall of today but was Pitt St then between King and Park St. Oh the memories come flooding back.
I vividly remember when this song came out in '82 (I was 5) but have never seen the FilmClip until now. Dare I ask which City it was shot in? Sydney? Melbourne? :S
good stuff swanee... seen ya live with the angels and ac/dc in 1980 in melb. what a concert that was. maybe the best concert i have ever seen and will ever see. just magic. still got the ticket stubb rofl
John when are you coming back to newcastle... I seen you about fifteen years ago at a night club in Newie and there were only about fifteen people there, but fuck i had a good time.. Love the version of crying time you did with jimmy on denton.. awesome
Thank you veryyyyyyyy much for the clip. I remember the song as a kid and I've beeb wanting to see it again for a long long time. The tune has always been in my head.
