@Potguy2 That's a limitation on your keyboard. Not all keyboards can register all combinations of key presses. You can try remapping to another set of keys that might behave better. You can read more about this by looking at Rollover (key) on wikipedia. .
@drbobbens Thank you for the explanation. I'm just curious as to whether you're working on a fix of sorts, or is it something that has so many variables thatit can't really be fixed?
@Potguy2 It's impossible to fix. Every keyboard with this issue behaves differently. You can try to set it to a combination you can experimentally verify to work, or switch keyboards. Not really anything we can do to make it go away. The keyboard does not actually generate the events.
I enjoy the expansive sub-systems and gameplay, except for a small niggling problem that you can't turn while shooting. I know that it's a gameplay change, but it doesn't 'feel' right, due to 0.4.2 allowing it. It's a beta (And like a new game), so things will be different, but is it possible to bring back moving while shooting, or is it here to stay? The wormhole idea is a good addition, but doesn't it kind of make null and void a slipspace engine? Overall, it's a great beta test. Good work!
if this was multiplayer i'd cry.

I have a correction on shooting; it does turn and shoot, but only when i press the right cursor key. The left cursor key doesn't turn when shooting.
