I was in Long Beach when Tuff made this unforgettable ride....and Gary will get no argument from me...this was certainly the one of the greatest bull rides.....if not, the greatest bull ride of all times. The only problem I had with it....THE SCORE WAS TOO DAMN LOW!!....They gave it a 94.
I thought this was funny ha cuz on "8 Seconds" I remember Lane Frost (Luke Perry) was yelling to Tuff (Stephen Baldwin) "Look, man, Gary Leffew! That's Gary Leffew, I can't believe it! He's a world champ!" hahaha then Tuff says "Well that's what their gonna be saying about us someday..." and look....they are!!!! Hahaha :)
It's all about the seat and the counter balancing tricks.( I think :/ ) I ride horses and it dosent matter if your in a saddle or not, you have a bad seat, then dust is what you eat.
pulling a tight rope isnt always a benefit. when you get a twister whos pulling hard it feels like your hand is coming off of your wrist if the rope is to tight and most times you will let go. good luck cowboys. godbless.
Brazilian ropes pull tighter, but the brazilians themselves have a few tricks they tend to use to take the steam out of the bulls. It was a big deal around the PBR a little while back.
i would just like to clarify a little bit, the pbr is setup up like the prca. you can join as simple as buying a permit and filling out an application. the built ford tough series is the big time series, the pbr pulls riders from the smaller, pro-touring divisions, challenger tour, enterprise rent a car tour, and the discovery tour. the samller tours are where you start. I rode in the prca for a year, and will be buying my pbr card this next year, when i heal abit. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!
Yeah saying Lane is better than Tuff is like saying Eminem is better than Vanilla Ice. Its preference DAMMIT! And I like both rappers. And both bull riders.

Hedeman has a reputation in Las Vegas for abusing casino employees. He is a legend at the Gold Coast for the years of verbal abuse he put people through.
People used to complain about Adriano pulling his rope really tight, arguing that it takes some of the starch out of a rank bull. But, true, there's no rule against it. Harry Tompkins (1950s) used to have girls pull his rope. He was a total master of balance and a showman to boot!
In OKC in 1967 Freckles Brown rode Tornado at the NFR, a bull that had never been riden. Another interesting note is that Brown was 47 years old at the time.
If anyone has video of that ride, I'd be interested in seeing it.
Lane Frost admired the hell out of Freckles Brown and I'm sure Tuff did as well.
Uneducated prick. Why don't you get your ass on a rank bull like Bodacious and see for yourself that Tuff is definitely no pussy bitch. He rode that bull twice. AND came back after Bodacious wrecked his face. Tuff was one of the best bull riders ever. You try getting on a bull, bitch. May I suggest the world's current number one, Bones?
That may be true...Big Tex has a better bull score so far this year, but Bones still has a better career bull score. Guess they'll figure out who's best whenever the two have their match-up.
i think big tex has been rode once but hes underrated. everyone has their eyes on bones... the only reason bones was rode is because he had a hip and shoulder out. big tex was rode because he had an off day
i aint brazillian and i usually have a puller and somebody to bum it when my puller gets it as far as he can its not cheating its just gettin your rope how you want it how its comfortable
It doesn't matter how tight the rider's bull rope is. If he isn't good enough to stay on the bull, he's going to get bucked off. Using more than one person to pull your rope is not cheating. If it were, it would not be allowed, such as having spurs in the loop holds of the bull rope is not allowed.
@DodgeXTremeBulls Its actually not now I believe. Because the Brazilians would have 3 or so guys pull the rope so tight it would squeeze the bull and hinder its performance. They can only have 1 guy pull the rope. The strength of 3 men can really suffocate a bull.
@tragicways how can u call having multiple people pull ur bull rope cheating. its just how there ropes r they pull up different than a typical bull rope
@cgriff96 and also @DodgeXTremeBulls The PBR actually did end up regulating how many people can pull a rope, due to the stock contractors, and it did have to do with the Brazilians, they were accused of "soaking" the bulls by pulling ropes too tight and taking a longer time in the chute. If a bull has its breathing limited for a couple of minutes, it stands to reason that it cant give a 100% performance
And for all your information Gary Leffew said that HE thinks in his opinion, not what everyone thinks that HE THINKS THIS IS THE GREATEST BULLRIDE OF ALL TIME not the greatest bullrider!! OPEN your Ears better!!
All I can say is everyone is as good as they can get and all these guys are the best and have been the best at what they do The only way to criticize would be you had a first hand try at riding a bull and to have been the best at it and see just what really goes into it. Watching and talking is one thing trying those rank bulls we see on tv is another thing so they are all great champions of their era and still are if we all are still talking about them!! DOnt hate they all kick ass!!
buddy ur an idiot like seriously the only reason that anyone even talks about lane frost is cause they made a movie about him but in real life he was not even close to the best and he was a loser that beat his wife
You are wrong. You are dead wrong. And I do have the sources to prove it. Let's say as close as it comes. You are dead wrong! That's what happens with gossip; usually make an idiot of yourself.
In any area of excellence, there's a group of individuals who rise to the top & to qualify one over the other is meaningless debate. It comes down to your favorite. Is Lane the most beloved because of his warmth & tragic death? I would say so. Was he better that Tuff Hedeman, Freckles Brown, Ty Murray, Adriano Moraes, Chris Shivers, Justin McBride, I'd go on but you get my point unless the bull recenty kicked you in the head. Who's the greatest? Welcome to a debate that never ends.
You make a very good point as well. Tuff & Lane are from a different era of bullriders than Adriano. I don't think any of Lane or Tuff's contemporaries were any better than them.
lol I used to ride I was thirteenth in AZ in the 13-15 age category i got out of it because of expense I thought about getting back into it but then broke my back pretty bad and it wouldnt be wise for me to come back now but how old are you if you are 18 or older its very easy, you just start with the PRCA and their smaller events, its all online ofcourse and if youre really good you can work your way up to the pbr you never know.
haha ... maybe a bit late, but not to late,i think pros have to invite you to ride in the pbr ... ... but you never know ... great things happen when unexpected actions are preformed ...( wow i came up with that one all by myself hahah ) and good for you bud ...
Well thank you for not shooting me down. Lol. Even if people do it won't stop me. I'm just getting food for thought. Ya know like realistic opinions. See how cool it'll be to prove people wrong. I mean Michael Jordan is the best example that you don't have to start at something young to be good at it.
im not that type of person bud . plus it takes balls to ride bulls ....2000 lbs full of TNT trying to shake a 150-180 lbs guy is no match ... it takes a special breed of men (and woman) to step up or should i say sit down and hold on for 8 seconds . ha some people say 8 seconds ..thats not much .thats when i say ... i want to see you try it , and then tell me 8 seconds is nothing .like the pros say ... 365 days of pain .8 seconds of glory !!!! its not a passion, its an obsession. enjoy !!!

Bodacious am a whole lotta' bull
over nineteen hundred pounds.
He's born in Dodger, Oklahoma
and he's the baddest sonsabitch around
if a Burma bull ever were a super star
then Bodacious just might be.
He's a cream colored, beefy brawn,
full-fledged super-stud, bovine celebrity.
