Hey everyone, My names Nancy Wilson and i am currently in the top 100 for Ohio's very own Idol competition. I need as many views as possible on my latest video; Battlefield by Jordan Sparks in order to win a VIP audition with the contest judges. Any hits would be appreciated. Thank you all so much
There is no female jazz singer with the class of Nancy...others may have their own qualities, Sarah, Billie, Ella, but when it comes to class...there is only Nancy! (Shame Phyliss Hyman left us...could have been the second coming of Nancy if should jazzed it up)
@MangOPlatinum Darlin, Bonnie is different, not better. Don't believe me? Ask Bonnie herself. Bonnie Raitt thinks Nancy Wilson is a National Treasure. :-)
For all the times...my deceased mother spoke of Nancy Wilson...and I thought she meant Nancy Wilson of "Heart", who is not deceased....Now, I finally get it...
this woman has class, all the way round. she has been my favorite since I was 16 ,am now 51. While my peers were listening to 70's rock, I was singing her music. Always loved her phrasing, orchestration. I even went to see her in concert at this club in Winter Park ,Fl. all by myself and sat with a wonderful couple. it was a very intimate serttng, and Gato Barbieri opened for her. Another favorite sax player of mine.
This is how you cover a great song. First she acknowledges Bonnie Raitt, who put the song on the map, then, as AIKAN74 puts it, she puts her own unique spin on it. Nancy Wilson is the true definition of a "song stylist".
I've had the good fortune of having seen Nancy several times at Seattle's Jazz Alley, in addition to a New Year's Eve celebration at the Paramount Theatre, and each event ended with the feelin' that this is so good I don't ever want it to end...well, a snapshot in time, a memory, is what life teaches us to make the most of...thx Nancy, for the memories...
Wonderful redition of this song. Nancy is an incredible jazz singer and one very, very elegant and classy lady!! Wish more of our singers today, would learn from her...

Epitome of sophistication. Nancy never sings the same song in the same way twice.
