@newlandsfaithful It is sold in Canada. We are not allowed to operate Team Beachbody Coaching business within Canada, but we can and do ship products up there. The original formula is out of production. I think the difference is really not noticeable. The new formula is much more effective. Shoot me an email for a sample. infoATthefitclubnetworkDOTcom.
@haqzuk I'm not aware that this is true. Where did you hear that? I can't find any information indicating that this is the case, much less why it would be the case. Recovery Formula doesn't contain anything that's controversial.
hey i have a question i got the p90x reovery drink the big one just like u but is says mix 2 scoops (60) grams into 12 oz... idk when i put it in water it seems to much is this right or is it just 1 scoop?
@flopez425 The more research I do on this, the more I believe that a half serving is plenty for most people. I use it when I'm doing workouts that are in excess of 1:30:00 and I'm burning over 1,000 calories. It's very effective for that, but it's not a snack and shouldn't be taken after easier workouts. Just too much sugar.
I heard chocolate milk is fine, i just bought protein is it really necessary to buy the recovery drink? Does the recovery drink just make me less sore? Or does it actually increase muscle gain?
@gdon12 Chocolate Milk has a similar ratio of carbs:protein (4:1), but it doesn't have amino acids or creatine. The creatine does help with muscle growth. Muscle recovery is an important part of muscle growth. Think of your body as a car. After you workout, your gas tank is empty. You need to refill it. Recovery Formula allows you to do that quickly, easily and with fuel that your body is looking for.
@gdon12 Totally different things. If you have a protein deficiency (consume less than 0.8 grams per pound of lean body mass as a general rule), then you need protein. Recovery formula is primarily carbs. It is a 4:1 blend. It helps your body replace glycogen that is expended from your muscles during exercise.
hey i have a question maybe somebody could help me im currently doing p90x but i do it in the hours of 730pm to 9pm im interested in drinking the recovery drink and i go to sleep at 10 pm can the recovery drink affect my diet or my sleep.
@caliche16 I would not recommend more than a 1/2 serving. It has a lot of sugar in it. That sugar is designed to restore the glycogen in your muscles after you work out. That same sugar can cause problems with your sleep.
im a little iffy about useing the recovery formula because i heard that u will lose ur results if u stop taking it. like if u take protein shakes and stop taking them ur body is missing all that extra protein in ur diet therefore u lose muscle. is this the same with the recovery formula? if i stop taking it will there be consequences?
Not exactly. It is a little more complicated. Protein is protein. If you get enough (1g per lean muscle mass), then there's no issue. Recovery formula is mostly carbs, so if you maintain your post-workout carbs, there's no issue. It does have creatine, which makes the muscles appear a bit more full. If you stop that then there is a flushing that occurs. Maybe that's what you've heard.
They are two different supplements. Recovery formula is a post workout drink designed to replenish a lot of the sugars you've lost during the workout and to give you a little protein, some amino acids and creatine. Protein shakes you would generally drink at another time in the day to make sure you get enough protein in your diet.
Great information, Have to look into that. Never tried either one. Of the Accelerade which of the flavors did you like? Right now, I take a multi vitamin, whey protein and glutamine as well as creatine in pill form. Not sure if I like the creatine in pill.
Thanks. I use the orange Accelerade. None of them taste all that good. It is worth looking into. You don't have to get something like this, but you should be using something (even if it is food) for post workout recovery. It is really important to give your body something after working out (particularly strength training) to allow the recovery/repair process to begin.
Two questions, why is this not sold in canada?
Secondly can i get a hold of the original formula because i hear it tastes way better.

@TheJuiy Nope. I think that's fine. Most creatine supplements have between 5 and 10g of creatine. It's more than I would take, but that's just me.

what about the endurox r4, is that a good recovery formula...it was made by pacifichealth as well
