People might have an innate sense of morality, why don't other animals generally attack each other? Also, it's not necessary to believe in a set of religious rules (which are made up, by humans, right?) to empathize with others.
The thing that gets me about atheists is that they always ask me, "Well how you do you know G-d exists?" I answer back, "How do you know He doesn't?" I think its funny what he said about the low divorce rate among atheists. First of all you cant be an atheist and then get married. Basically, my whole argument is based upon probability. If it was the other way around, and there were less Christians than atheists, I would suspect that most of the crimes would be by atheists.
Now, obviously, If the ten Christians were all criminals, and only about 2 atheists were criminals, then the crime rate would be higher in the christian city, but what are the chances of that happening? What I'm trying to say is, just because atheists have the lowest crime rate, doesn't mean it's because atheists are more trust worthy than Christians, or Buddhists. I have never met an atheist who claims to 'worship science.' Most, not all (I'm sure there are a few atheists out there who are skeptical of the scientific method), will view science as a valid means of discovering how this world works. Valuing a process which has proved itself to work time and time again is a lot different then worshiping something. If valuing science, because it is a proven method, is worship...then so is valuing a car for its ability to get us from one place to another.

I was never religious. As a kid, I viewed the attempted religious indoctrination of public school children as a great injustice. Picture a 7 year old boy refusing to say the lord's prayer. That was me. I was angry and frightened about it. I had been told by my parents that children go to school to learn important things. Atheists are the least likely people to commit crimes. Check out the statistics - christians vastly and disproportionately outnumber other groups in the US prison population. the big bang has been proven; the hubble telescope confirms it.
Einstein's relativity tells us that nothing can travel faster than light. relativity has been proven through experimentation.
however, about 13.5 billion lightyears away, objects are travelling faster than light relative to us.
this can only be the case if space itself is expanding. like a balloon, where the universe would be on the surface of the balloon.
so we know space itself is expanding. therefore the big bang is confirmed.

The thing that gets me about atheists is that they always ask me, "Well how you do you know G-d exists?" I answer back, "How do you know He doesn't?" I truthfully respect agnostics more because at least they can admit they don't know (and/or usually don't care). I find most athiests to be elitist, with a (hah the irony)holier-than-thou attitude. I respect their beliefs(or lack their of), but it's their attitudes that get to me.

THIS IS NOT TRUE. Unlike Christianity (Which I concede, does have different denominations), Atheism is not a set of beliefs.
While one can judge a Christian's beliefs and subsequent actions based on those of other Christians, the same cannot be said for Atheists.

Well if you labeled us that would be considered a sin according to the dogmas of the your church. Christians have standards and boundaries and when they cross those boundaries that affects them from entering a make believe place like heaven. So in a way, Christians have a lot more to prove than atheist. When I see a Christian out of character Im not afraid to point it out cause I know they are hyprocrites. Now, obviously, If the ten Christians were all criminals, and only about 2 atheists were criminals, then the crime rate would be higher in the christian city, but what are the chances of that happening? What I'm trying to say is, just because atheists have the lowest crime rate, doesn't mean it's because atheists are more trust worthy than Christians, or Buddhists. I think it's because there aren't as many atheists in the population. That's all I'm trying to say, OK?

I have never met an atheist who claims to 'worship science.' Most, not all (I'm sure there are a few atheists out there who are skeptical of the scientific method), will view science as a valid means of discovering how this world works. Valuing a process which has proved itself to work time and time again is a lot different then worshiping something. If valuing science, because it is a proven method, is worship...then so is valuing a car for its ability to get us from one place to another.

If there was only one atheist living in the USA and that person was a criminal then the crime rate for atheists would be 100%. So, I don't get your reasoning that crime rates would be low for atheists just because they are a minority. Being a minority will not cause the percentage of criminals within that minority to be lower.

That's because the christians are the majority in this country. And just because somebody claims to be a christian, doesn't mean that they are. So, alot of people say they are christian, just to have their conscience apeased. And then they go kill, and rape, and so forth.And tt makes the few, and proud true christians look worse than other religions. I bet, that if it was an Atheist majority, the number of crimes commited by atheists compared to other religions would greatly increase.

I was never religious. As a kid, I viewed the attempted religious indoctrination of public school children as a great injustice. Picture a 7 year old boy refusing to say the lord's prayer. That was me. I was angry and frightened about it. I had been told by my parents that children go to school to learn important things. No child should have to go through that in a public school system. Great vid, BTW!

Agnostic - one who feels you can not know or may never know.
Communism - One of the many forms of government...
People put atheism and communism together when they having nothing to do with each other. Atheism is not a religion, it's a stance, just like theism. There are not other shared ideas of atheists other than the simple one that 'we lack belief in god(s)'.

Atheists are the least likely people to commit crimes. Check out the statistics - christians vastly and disproportionately outnumber other groups in the US prison population. Maybe it's because we atheists can't use a silly guide book or blind belief in a deity as an excuse to murder doctors, for example!

I am not being ignorant, most Atheists I know are no more understanding of Christian and other faiths than the people who believe in a God. Sure many are educated and intelligent, but that doesn't mean they won't bash people who do believe in a God. I'm saying that there are extremes on both sides and neither side is any better than the other.
