If it's soft hash or squidgy blk u don't wanna burn it or put any sort of flame on to it but if the hash is brittle then heat it up slowly but do not burn it

I did try this but IMO burning it before it's smoked takes the potency away. I prefer the way shown in the vid. Thanks for your comment though.
