O.O I think I have heared what you are teaching here played in a song omg bookmarked this for when I have a guitar at my hands standered tuning right? Btw may help if you tell us the tuning your in when you start the vid as well as fret number and string...I dunno if I'm being fussy but I fined that helps loads other than that I should get along just fine with this. Thank you. ^_^
@Sabbathfan1996 Well, yes and no. there are certain techniques that you cant do with your fingers such as alternate picking. You can pluck the string and make the sound with your fingers, but if you plan on getting any speed with it, i would use a pick.
I can alternate pick with no pick. I used to do it all the time, then when I learned pinch harmonics, I switched back to the pick. I can sometimes do a pinch harmonic with no pick though.
Cheers Bobby. I owe you a pint man. I appreciate all the amazing people like you who are so generous in showing us the techniques behind your talent and ability.
Yes I have a BIG QUESTION the question is when how do u decide when to play a run , i mean is it to link two phrases , do u play a scale as a run or do you play it in thirds ...does the run have to lead to the first note of a phrase ...sorry for sounding ignorant , I guess I cant find a teacher to explain this concept especially the theory behind all this. I have been watching someones videos on here and the runs sound so beautiful
never thought of fileing down the pick! and never thought anyone in canada could rock as fast as you do. could you give a little more detail on the guitar pick sanding, like just on the sides or a little on the tip also?
yeah but the pentatonic scale is not the blues scale there is a seperate scale called a blues scale he said the blues scale not a blues scale and watch your language
I cannot find the tabs for this on your site. I am trying to pick it apart by ear, but since youtube videos don't let you scrub thru the timeline properly, it is very difficult. I counted 30 notes for the ascending in thirds part. Once i get to the 16th note, it falls apart for me :(
you don't really need sandpaper, usually my picks get that effect by themselves in like a week of heavy staccato riffs and fast soloing. I don't even play that much, maybe just an hour or two a day. Just play one of the first metallica albums and you'll find that you practiced AND sanded your pick! lol
This is cool and very common. But part one was quite noobish. I prefer picking every note when i speed pick. Elseway it is called tremolo picking right? I wbat you to check out the band Sex Machineguns if you havn´t already.
Bob something has gone wrong with all my plecs I used the sandpaper and it ruined my pics it was something like 40 grit??
I tried some finer stuff and that was worse?
It may have something to do with the drill I used it on?
I have never used sandpaper before most of the time I use my fingers so I have tried using sandpaper on them as well! Mind you there was a lot of blood on my fingers but they sure do grip well!!
@Zombo111 Heres a tip....Dont put sandpaper on your picks!! There are picks out there that have a natural grip surface like Dunlop Tortex, Ultex, Gator Grips. Dont ruin your picks with sandpaper thats just ridiculous.

@Byrom93 either you need to change your strings more often (1 month-2 months), clean your strings, or ultimately upgrade to higher gauge strings.
